The still ongoing r*pe at the beginning of the new chapter is honestly horrible, disgusting, and nauseating.
And the way Rian just acts so nonchalant right after, plus Enzo being portrayed like some sweet little cinnamon roll immediately to gloss over it… it’s too much, even for fiction. It feels disconnected and stops being believable at that point.
When is this story going to get better ? How did it even fall this low ?
I can’t believe it was in my top 3 last year, the potential has completely gone down the drain.
I’m reposting this comment because, chapters later, it’s still painfully relevant :
It's honestly a miracle Rian hasn't ended up ble*ding from his behind by now. Every time Enzo went inside him, he knew full well that Rian had never been on the receiving end before, yet he still never bothered to prepare him properly beforehand before shoving it in. Because, let's be real, lube alone ain't some magical fix, you can't just slap some on and expect everything to go smoothly.
And considering how ridiculously tight Rian is—his ring practically looks permanently puckered and clenched— it's genuinely baffling that he never tore or bled...At this point, it's pure luck.
Poor Adrian ma boy ! Hang in there princess, and make sure you get your revenge on that rotten apple, and then some, because he deserves every bit of what’s coming to him !!
That aside, I hope we move on from the grape in the next chapter because this has been dragging on, it's starting to feel suffocating, and we're losing the plot—as well as the top-vs-top rivalry that a lot of us were hooked by in the first place.
MY SHAYLA PILSANG !! (/TДT)/
Damn, he's getting bold now ! I’m convinced that the more time passes, the more he realizes he'll never truly have Jooeon all to himself, so he's become so much more "yearning" for him, trying to make the most of every little opportunity he gets.
And it's both adorable and heartbreaking how being cared for while he was sick —for the first time in his life— and having that person be Jooeon seemed to heal a part of his inner child ╥﹏╥.
I honestly think his love for Jooeon just keeps growing deeper and deeper, and now he's completely starved for his affection...aah poor baby.
As for the spicy scene, I highly doubt it was included for no reason. We already had one not that long ago, so I'm sure this one is meant to serve the plot somehow !! Jooeon holding Pilsang after he got hurt might make him realize just how much he wants to be gentle with him and how deeply he actually treasures him !
It could also make him start questioning the regularity of the heats —which, let's not forget, have all been fake since Pilsang's last real heat back in chapter 18— and that could easily become the catalyst that kicks off the runway arc and all the chaos and drama that come with it.
Ugh, I love them so much. I swear, I need them to kiss already ! Please, just do it next chapter, I'M BEGGING !
At least give me a little sweetness before the storm hits Σ(っTД T)っ
I don't think people are misunderstanding what the story is about, though. Most of us knew from chapter 1 that this wasn't going to be a healthy romance. A guy biting someone's tongue off isn't exactly subtle foreshadowing...
The criticism isn't that the story is dark or problematic. It's that being dark and problematic doesn't automatically make something interesting or "well-executed". You can portray obsession, coercion, and abuse while still developing a unique dynamic between the characters.
It's also obvious the author isn't romanticizing a lot of these moments and wants them to feel disturbing. The issue is that after the strong setup, the relationship started feeling less unique and more reliant on tropes that are already very common in BL with the huge power imbalance and all, plus the focus shifting from exploring the psychological tension and complexity of their relationship toward using escalation and shock as the only way to move the dynamic forward, at the expense of deeper exploration.
Basically, understanding what the story is trying to do and thinking it executes it well are two different things. Just because a story is dark, disturbing, or intentionally uncomfortable doesn't automatically make it compelling. And people criticizing how the story chooses to portray those themes, or feeling that the story didn't fully deliver on the potential of its premise, aren't necessarily misunderstanding it— we may simply think the execution didn't live up to the premise.
You know what sweetheart, everything is just about how each person perceives something and have their own opinion. To you and some, this may not have live up to ur expectations and to me and others it may have live up to our expectations.
While I do understand everyone has the right to criticize and also continue watching a show, it simply does not feel good to see continuous criticism in a space where likely most people want to have a positive air. And while some people do appreciate criticism, some people just do not and the amount who do not is likely more.
Dropping the show is totally UpTo u but if ur not enjoying it and keep expressing disappointment then it just feels weird to know ur still keeping up with it. (But I also do hate watch kinda stuff so not that I can't relate but at least I don't comment on it where people are clearly hyping)
Also lemme end with that I mean no hate or anything negative while I am writing this to u. Simply sharing my thoughts on it.
Yes, and ? Nobody said it doesn't live up to anyone's expectations. Obviously some people love the direction and that's fine.
That's not the point. The point is that people who criticize the direction are allowed to do so without being jumped on by fans who enjoy it. The issue isn't that you like it — it's that some people "can't seem to accept that others don't".
You enjoying the story doesn't cancel out someone else's criticism of it. Both can exist at the same time. The problem is not different opinions, it's the need to argue with people just because their opinion isn't positive.
Also yeah, back at you. If everything comes down to personal opinions and different interpretations, then that applies to criticism too.
And honestly, I don't think continuing to read a story while criticizing it is weird at all. Plenty of people keep up with stories because "they're invested in them, because they enjoyed earlier parts, or because they're hoping certain aspects improve". Criticism doesn't automatically mean someone hates the work. Wanting a positive atmosphere is understandable, but public comment sections aren't just for praise.
And it seems you're contradicting yourself a bit when you say everyone has the right to criticize, but then suggest criticism shouldn't be expressed because it creates a negative atmosphere. If people are free to talk about why they love the story, others are free to talk about why they think certain choices weakened it. That's part of discussing a work, not an attack on it, criticism isn't the same as hate.
So if everyone is entitled to their opinion, that has to include opinions that aren't positive too.
Anyway, no hate intended either, just pointing out that the issue was never different opinions existing — it was people who enjoy the current direction refusing to let others have their own.
No I am not saying criticism can't exist nor am I saying don't continue watching (I just said it was weird and weird things are totally fine).
I am just saying if u criticize or mention such aspects a few times in a row it just feels like u don't like the work (which is totally fine) just maybe don't use harsh words that make people misunderstand u (then again I am just suggesting so the rest is UpTo u). I also have small criticism on this work even though I love this so much but I just won't say it openly and rather discuss in a safe space (and maybe u can do that too) cuz I don't wanna make someone feel bad from my statement.
Also I do think if u didn't read the work on the legal platform then open ongoing criticism is too much (but u can always leave reviews on review platforms, it's just these comment sections can get very messy). And funny enough in legal platforms u will hardly stumble upon criticism or negative comments cuz I genuinely think people are there to enjoy the show for what it is and keep it peaceful.
While this might sound irrelevant but I think major of us are here to read something likable to distract ourselves from reality and so mostly we want something that would cheer up us so maybe we just want a comment section where we can have fun rather feel kinda sad from someones statement (but yes ur points are valid too and I am just sharing what I think hope I didn't offend u or come as rude).
Sorry I am not really good at organizing what I want to say, I know I am being wishful for wanting things to be on the peaceful side but me wanting so is also just an opinion and u are free to do what u want to(unfortunately I try to understand both sides perspectives and that's why my statements can be misunderstood as contradictory).
This has been going on for so long over things I never said, so I’ll just clarify a few points one last time, hopefully.
First, I never said criticism has to take over every comment section. My point was simply that criticism existing doesn’t mean someone hates the work or wants to ruin other people’s enjoyment.
Also, I’m not sure where the idea that I’m using “harsh words” came from. Criticizing certain writing choices, the direction of a story, or aspects of a work isn’t the same as attacking the work or the people who enjoy it. Disliking certain decisions doesn’t automatically mean someone has bad intentions. And I’m certain I didn’t do anything along those lines.
The part about not wanting to share your own criticisms because you don’t want someone to feel bad is also a different perspective than mine. ""Discussing a work’s flaws isn’t about making other readers feel good or bad — it’s about sharing opinions about the work itself"". People can disagree with criticism without needing to take it personally.
As for the legal platform point, I don’t really see how that relates to whether criticism is "valid". Where someone reads a work doesn’t determine "whether their thoughts about it are legitimate". Also, I do read most works through official platforms like Lezhin or Ridibooks, but I also participate in discussions here because these spaces allow people to talk more openly about different aspects of a work, or so I thought.
I understand that your intention is coming from wanting a peaceful space, and that’s completely valid. But having good intentions doesn’t change the point being discussed: a desire for positivity doesn’t make criticism less valid, and disagreement with a work shouldn’t automatically be interpreted as negativity toward the people enjoying it, or be treated as something that shouldn’t be expressed. Both appreciation and criticism can exist without either side being the “problem.”
And that was the whole point from the beginning: the issue was never people having different opinions. The issue was people jumping on others and shutting others down simply because their opinion wasn’t positive. A more open-minded approach would be understanding that liking a work doesn’t require everyone else to have the same reaction to it, and that criticism of something you enjoy isn’t automatically a personal attack.
Ugh, the new chapter is just more r*pe...
Nothing new, nothing interesting, it's very short, and the story isn't moving forward at all..
Yeah and Lorenzo is NOT beating the bad at sex allegations. Not only is he a rapist (no surprises there, we already knew he’s a psycho) but he is also legitimately horrendous at sex and has zero technique whatsoever.
He also talks so much shit lmao. He repeatedly threatens to maim Rian but never follows through. Where are the broken ribs at? His hand did slip after all.
Really hoping we get back to the plot with Umbra Project stuff soon.
Rian is definitely the master in that department. Enzo doesn’t even come close to him lol, they’re not even in the same league !
Cause Enzo just chases his own pleasure, while Rian actually understands the art of it ~
But honestly, the bigger issue is that the plot feels like it’s going nowhere. All the recent chapters feel devoid of the spark and everything that made the story so captivating in the first place.
The comeback after the hiatus has been pretty disappointing so far. This went from one of the most anticipated returns and one of the most interesting webtoons to something that’s just... meh ~ I genuinely don’t know what to expect anymore...
To the people nitpicking those of us who aren’t enjoying this shift in dynamic: it’s not about Enzo being “out of character” or a “red flag.” It’s about what the story feels like it has become compared to what originally pulled people in.
The appeal was supposed to be two powerful enemies-to-lovers characters clashing on relatively equal footing. A lot of readers were invested because it was framed as a genuine power struggle, where both sides had weight and influence in the conflict.
But since the end of last season, that balance has steadily eroded as the gap between them keeps widening. What started as a clash between two strong personalities now feels increasingly one-sided.
Right now it feels like Enzo holds all the power, while Rian is repeatedly put in situations where he’s coerced and has no real ability to resist or change the outcome. (He says he’ll never bottom for Enzo again, yet still ends up being blackmailed into it. He talks about wanting to punch Enzo and push back, but the narrative itself never allows those intentions to turn into action — the setup is written so that any attempt to resist leads to consequences that force compliance...Even things he would have never tolerated earlier in the story —the humiliation, the imposed punishments, the c*ck ring, etc — are now just happening without any real ability to stop them, which highlights how extreme the power imbalance has become.)
And when that back-and-forth disappears, so does the s*xual tension that made the dynamic compelling in the first place.
That’s why it no longer reads like the enemies-to-lovers dynamic people signed up for, but more like the familiar dominant top / powerless bottom trope that many of us are getting tired of.
I think from a writer's standpoint there needs to be a dip for there to be an up. If we imagine every single story beat to be the same small "win" for the other side it becomes constant and homogenous. Like a music note that just goes 2-2-2. But introducing a harsh drop creates a new rhythm that has to be given an equivalent height. Then it can be 2-2-2-"30"-1-1- and then finally, after a while, in which I trust this author, another "30" on other side.
Just let it marinate.
I think the harsh scale tip is actually a good thing. When the scale tips again the other way, it will be like a tidal wave. In this example 30 is just an arbitrary number that's just me denoting something big, versus all the little wins they had back and forth.
I do not think Hanse is the type of author that will let it stay that way. I think that's just not her style.
This is horrible... It's practically torture. Rian is essentially coerced into going along with Enzo's demands because Enzo holds all the power and is more than capable of destroying his life. He's giving in out of fear, to the point of letting himself be humiliated through the master-play dynamic and even taking the submissive role a second time without complaint (something the old Rian would have rather choked himself than ever do !)
So the sex scene isn't erotic per se, it's deeply unsettling. It's just another instance of Rian sacrificing his dignity and autonomy to endure a situation he feels trapped in.
And honestly, I waited so long through the hiatus for Season 2, but so far it's really not hitting the mark. Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic had so much potential, but the power imbalance is now so extreme that it ruins the tension. Instead of two strong personalities clashing and creating a compelling push-and-pull between rivals, it feels like one person has all the control while the other is just trying to survive.

I HOPED FOR IT IN MY LAST COMMENT AND MY WISH CAME TRUE !!
THEY KISS THEY KISS !! THEY SO LOVE EACH OTHER !!!! ♡♡♡
