If I could give 6 stars, I would. It’s rare to stumble upon a manhwa that draws you in and immerses you in the world and its characters to the same degree a 600-page fantasy novel would. The art, the pacing, and dialogue were all insanely well done. The artist/author is an amazing storyteller!!

And even though the ending was bittersweet, with many characters still filled with regrets, our favorite group not reunited, with Kaia never getting “justice”, and much left to our imagination, it was the perfect wrap up for a story like this — where nothing is black and white and you come to understand the actions of characters like Albrecht — and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can only hope the author will feel inspired to come up with a new masterpiece in the future. Until then, excuse me while I retreat back into my cave and try to emotionally recover over the next week.

I honestly love this so much!! Besides Taehee‘s mixed signals being confusing af, I love that Jaegyom is staying true to his character and actually has a backbone. Korean BLs are infamous for hyping up the bottoms as these strong and intelligent men only to turn them completely stupid in front of the tops, to make them look more powerful and so that they can perform their (at times rapey) manipulation and humiliation rituals (which the bottom then forgives and forgets).

Thank the BL gods we have a Jaegyom once in a while, who has no issue calling Taehee out for his bullshit and beating his ass for it, so it is Taehee being careful not to piss off Jaegyom and not the other way around.

lmaoo i get what u mean but jaegyom is a hot mess infront of taehee especially in the newer chaps when hes beginning to fall in love... u can really see how taehee is his first love

I’m at chapter 38 now, do we really have to do all that again? The whole story is just spamming abuse and rape for the sake of it. Ultimately, the author will try to come up with a way to redeem Yohan‘s delusional ass and find a reason to make the two stay together, even when the only thing he should get is a reality check of the torn-out jugular kind, preferably from Jess himself (though my boy has not a vicious bone in his body).

Edit: Somehow, I managed to finished it and wow, to top it all off the author made Jess permanently disabled, made him loose all his powers (the one thing that evened out the power imbalance between him and Yohan), and made Yohan a vampire instead. What a waste of beautiful art this story was.

She’s the Y/N final boss. Her boobs got bigger and her waist smaller with each chapter. While I don’t mind big chested girlies, I do notice that Korean artists (even women artists) tend to draw women for the male gaze, and it’s really sad. Either they’re pencil thin or they are pencil thin but with big boobs, which makes them look really disproportionate to the rest of their body. There’s like no in between and it’s slowly but surely getting on my nerves.

    Merenda June 10, 2026 7:00 am

Well that's not the author's or anyone's else problem. Women can be or dress however they like, be it goth, girlie, sexy, conservative. Real women and drawn women can express themselves freely. Not based to the reactions of others. Also I have a huge cup. I draw women with big cup. Simple as that. I don't give a f about the male gaze. Also I am athletic and muscly but I do know that many Asian girls are tiny and thinner than western girls. It is ok. So Korean authors since they draw western girls are also influenced by that and create a mix of the body types they know with the body types they think old EU would have. Also some maybe be inexperienced and slowly correct their proportions. But hell no I would censor my art because of "the male gaaaaze". Also, not a documentary. No reason for realism

Bruh, just because it’s fiction doesn’t mean it exists outside ideological influence and can’t be criticized. When I say “male gaze” it’s not about any artist’s stylistic choice (or you for that matter, so idk why you felt like you had to explain yourself), but a narrative pattern I noticed after reading hundreds of webtoons and having studied East Asian media. Also, these women don’t just have big boobs and a muscular body. They are at times drawn with stick arms and legs, a 2- inch waist and have an F cup, and looking at the comments, I’m not the only person who noticed this, but I digress.

Artists can and SHOULD draw whatever they like, but there is a pattern in how female characters are portrayed and characterized, and maybe you should ask yourself what causes this. I would assume it has less to do with “mixing European body types” and more with East Asia’s extremely toxic beauty standards and gender norms that oppress women in real life, which makes me question if there is truly a “freedom of expression” present, or rather expression in a culture that has normalized and internalized misogyny. Also, while the artists might care little about the male gaze, the Korean publishing industry (owned mostly by profit-oriented men) certainly does, and it sets the standard for what gets published. I say this as an Asian artist with a big cup size myself, lol.

Let me tell you something about how I was drowning my girl heroes when I was much younger. I had no contact with asian comics, just the US ones. Marvel comics mostly. I was not influenced by current trends on bodytypes but mostly from super heroes. So my drawings and my ideal type was tall, muscly with abs, big boobs relatively and thin waists. So in non Asian world those trends keep changing. We had the super model era (eg Cyndia Crawford), the Pamela Anderson huge boobs era, the Kardashian big butt era, now we have the ozempic era. Oh those are toxic beauty standards also. I know, I was with 2 hormonal issues from the age of 11 and struggling to achieve "normalcy" . So that is why that super hero body stay with me till today many years later. They are the same at Asian countries. Thin ethereal bodies (and to be fair their trends are not so radical as the western ones). The big boobs I believe is western influence, and boy have I laughed in hentais where the woman is thin and each breast is like a basketball. Yes relatively misogyny is still more impactful there but let's get real. EU and US started the red pill convo, not the Asian men. We have similar issues, just of different flavor. Also it is a bit hypocritical ( to be fair ) "omg on Stellar Blade video game those asian devs have her being dressed with almost nothing looking unrealistically beautiful" and when Resident Evil 9 Leon was appeared we girls and gays were thirsting and celebrating and put mods where we could see his abs. As in my US comics. Men were phenomenal, tall, unbelievable bodies. I love my tall handsome manhwua men that have unrealistic faces, backs, height, abs. I love my amazingly beautiful out of this world manhwua girls. It's ok. Beauty (and intent) is in the eye of the beholder

Omg all this yapping, no one cares about your experience. OP said she is tired of having the same type of body in every comic which is so sterotypically pretty and feeds on this unachibable goal of beauty women pursue.

We want more body types, different, varied, we dont want the same shit over and over again. And we definetly dont want more bodys that could never exist in real life unless they went through a hundred surgerires.

girl, the op said they're tired of seeing female leads with balloon-sized boobs and pencil-thin waists, not "please tell me your entire life story." it's actually impressive how you managed to write all that and still not engage with the point being made. not everything is an invitation to make yourself the center of the conversation, merenda.

Omg y‘all I cannot. After that monologue I just let it be because clearly there’s no getting through to her, but thank you for speaking my mind lmao.
Also thisss!! Yes, EU/US have a wide-spread red pill movement, but saying its not the same in Asia, the Origin of Neoconfucianism, is ridiculous. Particularly Korea has the worst case of Andrew Tate masculinity as of today. Like, almost 50% of men there truly believe women’s equal rights hurt men.

When i got to that part I checked out lol that person had no idea what they were talking about. South Korea, INDIA, Japan are ground zero for the types of misogynistic incel filth that would make Andrew Tate seem like a feminist.

maeimaei May 14, 2026 1:31 pm

This story was a rollercoaster, and I don’t mean an emotional one. Just the plot itself was wild.

SPOILER!!!

The story was mostly great. Clearly, the author is good at storytelling, planting seeds of foreshadowing to neatly tie them up at the end. But especially towards the end it got a bit ridiculous; the way she was dragging out the sister’s death for 20 chapters felt like plot filler, the whole time travel thing, etc. Toward the end I couldn’t take it seriously anymore and then the author flashbanged us with that panel of “God” and I nearly fell off my bed from laughing.

Unfortunately, the author isn’t nearly as good at writing romance as they are at plotting. The romance was bland, and like others commented, the ML existed only for the purpose of simping and supporting the FL without any semblance of individuality. Honestly, there’s more tension in Lohan and (reincarnated) Lady Iris’ relationship and I’d be more interested reading about them than the main couple. The same goes for the Mielle and Lady Iris, who were dumb-ified at some point so the FL could defeat them.

    FromHela June 30, 2026 12:46 pm

I think that was the point though wasn’t it? Like the main story was her revenge, and the romance was sort of just a side part. If the romance was too much, it would overshadow the whole revenge plot, and her. Instead the ML was just meant to be her support, not overshadow her plotting.

Maybe? But I believe that a good author can make the romance feel meaningful even if it’s only a subplot. Instead of creating a story where the FL actually has to plot and struggle to go up against her supposedly cunning enemies, the author used the ML (who, again, has no personality) and the sudden stupidity of the villainess to make the FL look more desirable, intelligent, and give her an easy source of power. If a good romance subplot alone is enough to overshadow the MC then maybe she’s not a well-written, memorable character to begin with.

maeimaei June 9, 2026 8:01 pm

Can someone who read the novel please spoil me if she end up taking revenge or at least some sort of satisfying retribution against her mother and the crown price (Geralt or whatever his name is)?

If her story ends with marriage to the ML while the crown prince and the empress go on with their merry lives I’m not gonna waste my time.

maeimaei April 23, 2026 12:17 pm

Best BL webtoon I’ve read in a long time. Unfortunately there is so many questions that are left unanswered, even important ones that where built up by the author but not resolved at the end.

Like, the whole story surrounding Beomjin? Maybe I skipped a chapter or something but I clearly remember Yoomin and other characters making this big fuss about Beomjins powers yet we never learn their origin and connection to the mythological lore. And is it just a coincidence that he looks so similar to the eath god (who has the character design that was originally intended for Beomjin)?

Personally I’d also love to know what happens when the Lord of the Underworld does wake, what will happens to Yoomin atp?

    Dawn April 25, 2026 6:53 pm

Think there’s a chapter where they show you the mom gets desperate enough to pray to an underworld god and the god explains most of that. I just don’t remember much from that chapter. Think it was like around chapter 30-40??

maeimaei April 21, 2026 7:24 pm

I realized I‘m too leftist socialist to be reading this shit. Especially when they purged the slums because the nobility was afraid of the poor people rebelling because due to their awful living conditions. Even if the rebels were presented as the villains, their cause was valid.

The FL has one dormant braincell and is a hypocrite. She wants to be with her mother and stands for her origins from the slums, yet she still stays in the system which created that hellhole in the first place and marries the ML who’s partially responsible.

Not to mention that the ML is extremely manipulative and kept the mother’s letter from her because he was scared she would be “happier with her mother”. And this is after he already promised her not to hide anything from her because this had happened before. Seriously, what a loser. Anyways, fuck oligarchy. Eat the rich.

    UrHate_MakesmeHorny July 6, 2026 7:48 am

I saw a couple previews of this shit when it was first coming out--and I thought it was fucking bullshit, and now that its finished, and im older, I thought I might have misjudged it and since im bored I should try it out. This was all I needed to see to know that I was right the first time, thank you for keeping me from wasting any more of my time

maeimaei April 10, 2026 4:29 am

I dropped it around Ch 40 because I couldn’t force myself to continue reading. Like, can someone explain what they liked about this, because how come the rating is this high???

It’s clear that some wattpad girlie came up with this plot that should’ve just stayed in the drafts. The ML is manipulative and possessive in his past life as well as this one. There seems to be no change other than that he’s suddenly kind to the FL now (and I still don’t know why by Ch 40). Other than that, he’s still an asshole, like when he said he’d “have her no matter what”, even if she hates it, or when he casually sexually harasses her.

While I get that some people are into this shit, what irks me personally is that there’s never any retribution from the FL, who herself is a huge hypocrite. She gave such a grand, promising speech at the beginning, that she knows what its like to be loved unconditionally by her family now and therefore realized how pathetic the ML was, that she doesn’t need to go along with his whims anymore, only to do EXACTLY that. Instead of saying all the things she thinks about him to his face to give him a taste of reality, she just ends up going along with whatever he does.

For instance, when he thinks he has a right to touch her whenever he feels like it, after she clearly told him she doesn’t want it. Or when he (unprovoked, mind you) attacked Morgan (I think that was his name) in his jealousy fit and then blamed Morgan for attacking him first, when it was the other way around. And instead of telling the truth and standing up against the ML, she just goes “oopsie, guess he wiggled his way out of this one”, when the dude who tried his best to save her from the ML (who had just kidnapped her) is lying wounded on the ground. Like, how ungrateful and brainwashed can you be?

The overarching plot and side characters are just as flat and boring. Sadly and surprisingly, the only one who has some potential is the Antagonist aka the fake Saintess. I saw another comment saying that they didn’t like how lenient the ending was with the Saintess because she was manipulative and selfish, which made me realize what a crazy double standard some readers have for female characters. Because if you think about it from an objective stance, there’s not much of a difference between the fake Saintess’ and the ML’s behavior, except that he’s a handsome man, so he can get away with his behavior without ever facing true backlash.
