for those who were confused about the “predator” label in chapter 40, please know that it was never meant as me hating dohyun’s character. I was simply following the official translation.
I’m fully aware that the actual meaning should be closer to “thief,” referring to someone who dates a younger person.
before this, I saw a lot of drama around the alpha trauma fan translation, where people kept pointing out that fan translations can differ from the official version. that’s why I chose to use the word “predator” cz the official t*pas translation itself changed “thief” into “predator” back in chapter 18.
that’s just how official translations sometimes work. they may interpret certain terms more heavily or take a meaning further than the original korean’s literal wording.

please, if you’re the type who only reads the official version and isn’t really into fan translations, that’s totally okay, you can just skip them. I’m honestly doing my best to make the translation as good as possible because Shutline is one of my favorite titles too.

Let me just say that I usually just wait until there are officials unless certain translators are working on it, and you're absolutely someone that I trust on a good reading experience. (Kind of wish there was a way to block or mute uploaders in a way that didn't show their bad translations and all the repeats). And please don't take this as any pressure for this or any title, just appreciation for what you do!
