Brian and Ian are one and the same, Ian had a different upbringing, different life so of course he is going to be different but it doesn’t change the fact that Brian’s memories are his, that Brian’s soul is the same as his, and even in season 1 you can see Brian in Ian.
You all keep separating the two because Ian was against the idea of being Brian, the reaction is natural, he needs time to adjust to the idea, to understand, we’ll see that in season 3. It’s a little like an “amnesia trope”.
Honestly I loved this season.
THIS!! Yes, Ian and Brian have different personalities but they are one person. People can't expect that just because Ian is the reincarnation of Brian they will have to act the same. No! Brian has been living a life on his own freewill even after meeting Sol but Ian grew up in a hostile environment that condemns him from having magic and not just that he was basically groom by Lorkan to be loyal and follow him. So yes, Ian and Brian are the same person but have different personalities. So there's really little resemblance to them aside from their looks.
They’re two pieces of the same coin, Ian is not a receptacle for Brian’s memories, we can agree on that. I’m pretty sure Ian will accept it, that’s why I find the hostility towards this season and Brian in particular bizarre, we all know its almost certain Ian will accept that he has a past he is unaware and of
I think that’s why people are hostile, they don’t find Ian in Brian. I know I did see some of Ian in Brian, I feel like despite every thing, their “core” is the same, we see it (in my opinion) in some scenes, when he kisses Sol for example.
I just don’t get the hostility cause this is what you get, I’m sorry but season 3 we will get Ian back but he’ll most likely get back his memories and then what ?
I mean people can say whatever they want but this is a well written story and the bashing feels a little much
I genuinely love Brian and he is Ian, I think that’s also why this arc is long, because we’re getting to know Ian through Brian, they’re the same person, and eventually when we go back to present time Ian will regain his memories. They were never two completely different people, you find some of brian in Ian during season 1 (when he kisses Sol for example, it’s so him).
I don’t know but I’m enjoying this arc, it’s not a flashback it’s the beginning of it all, it works for me, I get that it’s long but I believe anything less would have felt rushed. Every thing is so fleshed out thanks to the pace the author chose.
People saying “I want him to beg for Dan to come back”, he won’t need to beg, Dan is spineless, and he doesn’t love himself clearly, and it makes no sense cause his character doesn’t have the background to be like that ?? In my opinion he does know what real love is (his grandma). So honestly I don’t get it.
Just bad writing altogether
Also Dan didn’t leave because of the way he was treated, he left because he thinks of himself as incompetent and because he wants to be with his grandma. So again, no begging will be needed, except if Dan grows a spine at the beach
I need that man dead. I did not expect that at all. Explains a lot abt actually, Cirrus saying “you think I’m dirty” in that one chapter for example.
This story is so well written, seeing Cirrus and Skylar becoming each other’s solace is so nice :( but I need them happy now
It was hinted what happened, but it wasn't just me who thought that Cirrus had got to escape before that piece of shit did something to him.
I noticed the "you think I'm dirty" questions just after re-reading (it happened the first two times he kissed Skylar), and there was a similar reaction in the frog scene, where I thought Cirrus was just red-flag possessive, but not, he was triggered and it's clear when you already know what happened...
It felt nice that Cirrus has finally told somebody else what happened to him, but he needs a lot of help, more than telling to his bf :(
I really didn’t think he was actually sexually assaulted :/
Also I read the next chapter on another website and Cirrus needs help, more than just Skylar, or the relationship might turn toxic
Either way it’s really well written so I think no matter the direction the author takes it will be well developed.
They will be happy !!!
I read up until the last released chapter and indeed, a lot of help. Even if there's been comedy here and there from the very beginning, I trust the way PasKim tells their story. I hope there'll be a happy ending for them, but I'm expecting a long journey before that, portrayed with the same respect and slow-paced as it's been up until now<3
I know. Since you saw the last raw and I assume you also read ch 97, that was what I meant with Cirrus needing a lot of help. I mean, we already know he can actually be dangerous, for others and for himself because he's constantly on edge, asfixiating by the untold. And the problem is that Skylar can be there for him just to some extent. He has his own unresolved traumas that don't allow him to be everything Cirrus needs from him (it's not Skylar's duty to be that).
So at the point the story currently is, none of them is what the other needs so they can't actually comfort one another, aka being together is more painful than anything else.
Anyway. Cirrus's my baby so I'll keep waiting for his healing arc, even if in the end he doesn't end with Skylar. I mean I want him happy and forgiving and loving himself before he can actually be with somebody else :c
Lol I'm sorry for my long replies!
Don’t worry abt the length of the reply !!! Thank you for answering. I thought they could become each other’s solace, I like dynamics where two people are each other’s favorites, but in this case it’s like they brought each other peace but only for a moment (you said it, sky can be there for him but that’s not enough and it’s not what cirrus needs to become better)
I don’t like saying they should break up cause “broken” people are allowed to love but since this is turning toxic and you can clearly see no trauma has been dealt with, they should take time :/
Regardless, (as we said) I hope the author will develop this in a sensitive manner. I think a happy ending doesn’t necessarily mean Cirrus and Sky ending together
Sorry for my English btw! I’m French
You know, I think it would've been an interesting approach for a psychological plot if both characters kept feeding back how isolated they feel from the other kids their age by overly taking refuge in each other. But the thing is that their traumas are not compatible, since Cirrus needs to be the only thing in Skylar's life, and Skylar is terrified of the idea of others noticing something's /wrong/ with him, which leads him to be distant.
So, no, they shouldn't break up because they're broken but because they hurt each other without noticing, or at least take time as you said, until they can afford start healing.
I'm not sure if I mentioned it already, but not too long ago I read Paskim's Sheep Mask (definitely a horror story, not a bl as tagged), and knowing they can write really heavy themes is what makes me anxious about LitC, but I think they will bring a happy ending in this case, even if that means Cirrus and Skylar don't end together (although I hope so, with time)!
English is not my main language either so don't worry (and I'm sorry if something I said was confusing haha)
Wait, I need to warn you that Sheep Mask is REALLY heavy, and I only finished it because I needed to close it on my mind. When I said horror I meant asphyxiating and despairing, not terror like ghost or such. JIC, because of what you said about LitC being heavy.
I've said I'd wait in lots of stories so I won't lie myself anymore haha. I hope to read your opinion when you keep reading!
Is this more focused on the boy or the girl ? I kinda want to read more from a girl’s pov at the moment.
I mean I’ll read either way if it’s well written but I wanted to read a sport manga from a girl’s pov
Honestly to me it feels like a good balance of both! Though we see more of Taiki, as he is still our main POV. But we see a lot of Chi too! So it's not in her point of view (though that would be cool!) I'd still recommend it. It's pretty fluffy too, and both romance and sports aren't just used for plot. The author did a really good job of making them involved in plot, but not as some extra thing. Happy reading if you do!
Thank you for the reply !! I actually started reading the manga and I really like it ! It’s not exactly what I was a looking for, but a good find regardless
I'm glad you like it too! And it's absolutely no problem, I'm glad to help! I'm also excited that it's getting an anime adaptation too ☆(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*
