I love bl but I just dont like heavily male centric stories... I never asked for a female character to be a main focus. I love to ship guys but that doesn't mean I will read/watch stories where the side characters are even male, women are just treated as background props, completely excluded from the story.

The vast majority of the world's military consists mostly of men. Some countries still do not even allow women to serve. While it may be nice to see some representation, in this kind of setting it is frankly unrealistic. Even if they were to put a female in, there is a high chance it would drastically impact the story considering there would be roughly 100+ men in a single facility and 1 female. Even if they put more in the number would be nowhere near the amount of males, and would probably still be floating in the single digits. Sexual crimes are not uncommon in the military, and while this is not actually set in the military we are focusing on a branch of the organisation that acts more like "the muscle" and probably more like the military that the other parts of it. It is also possible that their ARE women in the department but that they are in a male only facility, which would probably be for the best.
Considering that this is a story ABOUT MEN fucking MEN it's really not all that odd that it should take place in a "male centric", or even "patriarcal" setting. That is a CHOICE taken by the creator, and it's honestly refreshing considering we DO have so many options featuring the "baddie bestie". It IS possible to enjoy a story that doesn't have anything to do with you. Women read BLs all the time. That doesn't make them gay men.
