This story was a LOT! I read this in like 3 days and I’m so fucking traumatized rn. Honestly, this story kinda reminds me of ALNST. Obviously the fact that our core 6 were all raised in an isolated “orphanage” is a big factor in that, but I also see similarities with how both creators treat relationships.
Though the dynamics in this and ALNST are VERY different, the relationships are treated with such a beautiful complexity in both. Every relationship in this story is toxic in some way. Jin was incredibly dependent on Charin for approval and would do ANYTHING for that man, even if it means erasing himself. In turn, Charin relished in his control over Jin and didn’t realize how much he actually cared about Jin until it was much too late.
Kimoto and Tehir also share some similarites with Charin and Jin’s relationship. Kimoto deeply loves Tehir and will take every insult and every blow from him because he loves him, but unlike Jin, Kimoto tries his absolute hardest to erase his feeling because he sees them as a weakness while Jin tried to erase his feelings because he believes that Charin finds them disgusting. Charin and Tehir also have control over their respective partners, but Tehir takes pride in being able to crack Kimoto’s composure and Charin takes pride in seeing Jin as inferior to him.
Also, Kimoto and Jin’s relationship in the past was VERY interesting from Jin’s perspective. Kimoto hated and was terrified of Jin, not only because he was scary, but because he was the only one who could shake Tehir’s composure. Jin didn’t care about how Kimoto felt because he saw them as one and the same. I don’t think Jin even actually HATED Tehir, but he saw him as a nuisance— an error preventing him and Kimoto from truly becoming one.
Obviously I’m just stating what the story literally told us directly lmao (I actually appreciate how easy the author makes it to understand despite how nuanced the characters are). This is SUCH a good read despite all the… VERY WEIRD BS (I will NOT get over the fact that this dickhead is supposedly heterosexual in a world with no women)

As someone who has been reading yaoi since they were eight, there are a few tells for when something is a dream. Firstly, it’ll feel abrupt. When a character has a wet dream (which this obviously isn’t), it’ll feel rather out of place considering the flow of the story. This interaction however, makes perfect sense. Secondly, if a character does something uncharacteristic of them in a dream, there’ll be no explanation— as if a switch flipped. The mc’s actions are explained by his intoxication.
There are other tells obviously, but TLDR; this is most likely NOT a dream
Okay, so I want some yaoi recommendations where the dynamic between the mc and ml is two broken souls finding solace in each other. Both have their own demons, and, surprisingly enough, this leads to them healing each other (negative times negative makes a positive)

I want a story with two main characters that have a similar dynamic with Nam Woori and Subin from The Fundamental law. The other character doesn’t have to be as dumb or neurodivergent as Woori, I just want a dynamic where person A consistently pesters person B in order to get close to them, while person B doesn’t give a fuck (though they slowly warm up to Person A over time)

So guys, the stories I’ve been reading lately are either depressing or horrifying. “Hmm… This story looks nice!” It had cannibalism in it. “Oh… Then what about this story?” The ml is suicidal and the mc was abused as a child. Don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE angst stories but I need a break before I become depresso espresso.
Okay now to the point. I want some fluff recs. Preferably bl but any works. I know that “fluff recs” is a very broad thing to ask for, so I want fluff with good or better plot and/or friends to lovers. SPECIFICALLY the characters slowly become friends then slowly become lovers. Or the characters start off as friends and stay as friends for a decent chunk of chapters.
