I really can’t remember what fairytale it is, but there’s one where the heroin is taken in by a fae prince, he however turns into a beast and locks himself away so he doesn’t hurt her. I believe he married her to try and win her heart to break the curse? I genuinely don’t remember. It’s kinda beauty and the beast but …not quite, I think ….theres two ways this could lean. He’s actually long lived and that’s how he’s read every single book in the library and he has this because he’s a werewolf perhaps? (She mentions the moon and he also went missing first a few days…moon cycle maybe?) or… he was abused as a child, and as a result he took to reading to try and understand why…why it was happening, why he was the way he was and so forth.
I also think perhaps the emperor is genuinely how our ml seems himself. He thinks he’s putting on a mask and deceiving others and inside he’s evil. When in reality his brother is well liked but his character from what we saw seems somewhat twisted.

The ml isn’t the omegas son, and for the alpha father to hate his son so much… it parallels with the min characters omega father as well. I think maybe both were raped? Like the alpha father of the alpha may have been taken advantage of in a rut perhaps so he’s full of guilt for betraying his husband’s ? And the omegas father seemed like he was in a bad way and he beat his would be attacker before so me thinks that’s how he got pregnant in the last, against his will.

Like lowkey, this poor guy. He’s a victim from childhood trauma, did he handle the relationship well? No…but was he sincere? 100% yes, he loves mc a lot but he never got over his trauma or even opened up to the mc about it. Both of them were so….scared? I think that’s the correct term. When the ml thought he’d cheated he was so distraught he even broke up with mc. I think that’s mc did the alpha wrong there.
It was a huge miscommunication thing which ML would regret so much he will become clingy like a puppy.
MC was ignored for 7 YEARS in a relationship that's basically a roommate relationship. MC is in his late 20's, early 30's. If he went for another person, his needs would have been fullfilled. He would never have to go through that trauma in army.
Instead he's stuck in a situationship for 7 years with no sex, no intimacy, always had things said to him like "go fuck an omega" while he thinks he deserves this relationship limbo for confessing his love to his best friend and ruining their friendship. No matter how attentive your partner is on other things, if you're still pining for a proper relationship with your partner who is nothing but a courteous roommate, wouldn't you feel frustrated too?
Oh, not to mention, MC's trauma was belittled every possible time. ML didn't know it was PTSD, but wouldn't you be concerned if your partner has recurring nightmares frequently and take him to a therapist or something? ML kinda deserved this mild inconvenience.

As for intimacy… call me strange but he says himself he has low lebido but if he TRULY desired more he could have spoken to the ml about it. I fully believe (as a manga reader) the ml would have worked through it with him. Doesn’t seem like the ml is getting some on the side, they’re both without.

But what I mean other than that is his personality is consistent… he doesn’t pretend to be a nice guy at all and so I can’t hate him. Like if he was to sleep with the mc rn I wouldn’t expect him to be loyal. Tbh I wouldn’t expect him to be loyal….ever. Not unless he really grows as a character which I think the artist will do. I do think tho he will change for our mc, he’s already showing signs of favouritism and jealousy. From my guesses he’s just never liked anyone…ever. So that’s why he is the way he is. He’s never experienced that anxiety of your partner cheating on you because he’s never even had any emotional connection with any of the woman he’s been with (I’m guessing). This is where the drummer comes in, if he never existed (the ml) I’m pretty confident the drummer and our mc could have ended up sleeping together and maybe even dating, heck maybe they still could… but for now I think the drummer is just there for the ml to understand his feelings quicker.

Everyone’s hating on the ml but hear me out…when he found out his lover was being blackmailed, he didn’t freak out and accuse him of cheating (cuz face it some people would) instead he was concerned and only wanted to help his bf. He never once thought about himself in that situation only his lover. Then the lover breaks up with him, he still doesn’t blame him and isn’t getting into rows etc he’s just there, thinking how he can help and then! His lover disappeared. He wasn’t sure what happened but he really thought about what the mc said and somehow became a ceo (lol). Yet when he finds his ex his ex is well…prostituting himself. I was getting the feeling that he’d have had smex with anyone that the father of the second ml would have wanted.ml didn’t blame him again tho, he’s just wanting him back. He’s blaming the right people and he’s not necessarily going about it the right way but genuinely I think he deserves to be angry a little bit. Yes the omega is a victim but at some point the omega chose that life. He chose it for his mother I suppose and to “atone “ for his brothers death. But a choice nonetheless. At first it was rape, then it became consensual (makes my stomach turn saying it but it is). The omega has shown concern for the other alpha as well and THAT is what might be making the ml play up more. In all of those ten years, I don’t think he ever thought the mc was willing and to see the mc not running to him now he has all that power to “protect” him must be triggering to some degree.
Yes MC did make a choice but we need to understand the circumstances that led to make the choice. He pushed ML away 10 years ago cuz he felt that he cheated on ML by getting assaulted by that POS and he's already been emotionally abused by his family and his brother's death caused him grief cuz the last interaction was them fighting and he didnt want ML who was powerless at that time to get tangled in his mess.
Another thing, ML did wrong. He may not know about circumstances initially and even if he did, what he did is heinous. ML chose a path of not reconciliation with MC but forced reunion with him. In the initial meeting, ML practically sprayed his pheremones to get a rise out of MC and used his power as an advantage to force MC into sexual relation to get the contract signed. He's aware of MC's situation but slutshamed MC and forced MC to be with him even though MC was getting abused
ML now being in a position of power easily could have paid off debt or handled Jinsung directly but he didnt do that. instead he used his power to force MC into relation which actually pushed MC to play by Jinsung and his family's rules. ML could have easily done something that would have provided stability for MC, but he's more interested in tying him down so that he wont be able to thrive on his own. basically stability on his terms which is practically coercion. He even blocked the hospitals to provide medical care MC is seeking. He's using his power to tie down and dictate they way MC lives. He never really apologizes to him nor is willing to talk about the past to resolve the issues. If he really cared, he would have made some attempts to talk about the misunderstandings but he did not. He's more than happy to keep the status quo that is, he's powerful and rich CEO and is 'saving' the poor MC from his troubles and not as past lovers who still have feelings for each other and he certainly enjoys this dynamic. I'm sorry but ML is a major red flag and is not worth defending
