Solo Leveling unpopular opinion (apparently)
The only reason ppl say solo leveling is overrated is because after solo leveling came out and was gaining popularity 50 other manhwas with the same concept of systems, hunters, etc started coming out more and more and made it seem like solo leveling was like every other bitch when really it was probably the blueprint for most manhwas including ur favorite one. not to say there probably wasn’t any other manhwas like solo leveling when it first came out but it definitely gained the most popularity and other manhwa authors definitely saw the potential and made similar stories now making solo leveling seem like it got all the hype for no reason when you can basically say solo leveling was the “original” (not LITERALLY but u get the idea) for manhwas with the same concept. #staywoke (also for reference solo leveling was first released, according to the mangago, November 6 2018..)

People say Solo Leveling is overrated, because it is. You can obviously like it, subjectively speaking, but when you look at the story from an objective point of view, it's ass. Straight from the butt. A big ass serving of a nothing-burger. Doesn't matter how original it is, it's just not all that. #truthnuke

i read solo leveling since the manhwa was still ongoing, since i had to read it on jaiminis box website. it was one of my first action fantasy manhwa. i finished the novel when i was in middle school, im graduating college this year. fight me.

Personally Solo leveling is overrated af and im saying this as someone that read the story in 2019 when the story is still in the 110 sth chapter.
Even then i drop that story so fast because there literally no plot nor development. Its like reading wattpad self insert oc. The mc literally lost his personality the moment he gain the s class power. ...... reply

solo leveling was never original. as someone who has been reading action/shounen manhwas since before 2018. the dungeon, system concept was an extremely popular trope for korean webnovels. Yes and no? Solo Leveling is very much similar to Marvel movies in my opinion. It's easy to understand, full of aura farming and surface level satisfaction. It's crack. I like Marvel movies. I like Solo Leveling. And I think both deserve the popularity that they have. Unlike you though, I don't think Solo Leveling can claim to pioneer anything. Eve...... 2 reply
I found Solo Leveling through the anime and I've watched enough animes to feel that this one, definitely is not overrated. I enjoyed it a LOT (& typically i need a little dose of rom-com but it's whatever for SL/JJK/ some others) and I love that it's getting so much hype, which I hope continues.
