Opinions on piracy
So for me I'm ALL IN E-books, manga, manwha, movies, shows, games, dlcs, anything I can get my grubby little hands on you name it. But whenever I mention I pirate shit someone acts like I just stole cheese from an anorexic mouse. I've seen some people on here have negative views one piracy (bit ironic but eh) and irl its always a mixed bag. Like they're ok with movie piracy but when I told some mf to just pirate the god damn Thomas the tank engine because I know these mfs around me will.never get a job they look at me like I just pissed on baby jesus.
I know I am probably biased to this as I was built on piracy from a young age and I personally don't see it as a big deal but I know some.people see it as a big deal so just want to see what peoples opinions are
people would rather blindly pay for an overpriced subscription and shit on people that pirate than string together a logical thought and recognise that it is the evils of capitalism that is at fault for not paying the people who created the media and not the people who pirate. fuck even a lot on here (who are pirating) do not understand this. multi...... 2 reply
I don't give a shit I'm a cheap, lazy bastard. You can come up with moral arguments for or against, but I don't wanna spend money or go through the hassle of buying individual volumes or chapters. reply

So I buy all the physical copy of books I can afford but when it comes to reading online I don't pay since I can't actually own it (I've had to buy the same chapter of my favorite manhwa on webtoon multiple times because they keep making it unavailable after a bit) reply
I am mixed/leaning towards piracy on this issue. I was brought up in a poor country and the only way I got access to animes and mangas were from piracy links that were shared among my friends when I was in middle school. for me it's mixed lol, i paid for netflix, games i play and some manhwa episodes. but most of the times I'm a pirate.... games that's really expensive (i mean the one that REALLY expensive), manhwa/manga (the site im in rn) and series that are not on Netflix

For me, it's a mixed bag. On one hand, I'm a total hypocrite and pirate a lot of media due to want>wallet. I think of it as borrowing from a library, checking out media for free so I don't invest on something I dislike.
