Being Locked Up
Is it just me or are some things are just too normalized in BL? Like for example, being locked up. Like that common trope where the bottom is about to leave the top for whatever reason and they get locked up by the Top… like I feel like this is just completely unacceptable because it’s simply psychotic behaviour. Like just imagine you want to leave a relationship and then your partner says NO and then locks you up in their basement and then later you forgive them….
To this day I see people recommending manhwas w this trope under user's asking for fluffy stories. Idk what's worse, how normal it is for authors to pull that move or how desensitized readers are to it that they still consider this stories wholesome reply
Unfortunately, this has been happening for a LONG time. It even appears in GL and straight manhwas, not only BL. People seem to be under the impression that if you lock people up long enough they will like you back or smth...idk. It just goes with the whole yandere trope and stuff. Unfortunately it’s because a lot of women(not all so if this doesn’t apply to you then shut the fuck up) don’t wanna admit this but they have a rape fetish when it come to fiction. So since a lot of bl is catered towards these same women (fujoshis) you see bullshit like this In almost EVERY single bl.

Most BL has pure offensive shit masquerading as love. Like irrational possessiveness treated as cute Bonafide lover behaviour as if it doesn't scream patriarchal mentality of ownership. I think people like it because its basically an extreme way to say that the Love Interest definitely absolutely with certainty only has eyes for MC. That kind of plot is considered romantic/fun if the Love interest attractive. Or if the reader itself likes the Love interest.
In my personal opinion, it lowkey gets boring reading it like, let bro ou...... reply
