I have no words.

I lied. I have much to say to this rather flabbergasting one shot.

I think I understand the mangaka‘s intention with them fucking in the storm to show that they are unashamed and steadfast in their selves and choices. This especially applies to Jun who is still young student (just how old is Yoichi, honestly he’s probably a pedophile), unsure, and insecure in his relationship with Yoichi. So Yoichi instead encourages Jun to confront his fears by unabashedly having sex in a typhoon. The typhoon plays dual roles as a test of courage for the couple and shows how their passion is like a force of nature reflecting the weather, but the typhoon is also shielding them from onlookers that could hurt Jun due to everyone knowing each other in his hometown (cause no sane person is going to the middle of nowhere during a typhoon). As many sane commenters have said they could’ve had sex in the car instead but that detracts from meaning of having sex outside during a storm as car sex’s connotation is usually people trying to hide the fact that they are having sex treating it as a shameful act while Yoichi is trying to encourage Jun to let loose.

Still, while I understand the logic, the story is so nonsensical and out of pocket even with context and what doesn’t help is the manga cover which made me first think that this was a gag manga. First is the disturbing notion that Yoichi is likely grooming Jun considering their age difference and creepily how many times Yoichi emphasizes on Jun’s inexperience. Second, there are so many ways other ways that Yoichi could’ve used to encourage Jun, like I don’t know… talking? Taking it slow? Reassuring him consistently? Not become an exhibitionist during a fucking typhoon. And their semen just flying around in the wind, I know it’s trying to emphasize their elation, their synchronization, and how much they became like the typhoon, but all I could’ve thought was the chances of their own cum flying straight to their eyes. I just fucking can’t with this.

For my own sanity I am going to think the mangaka created this as a piece of satire, hence why the ridiculous manga cover, that is supposed to be a coming of age one shot that is suppose to be rather wild and not to be taken seriously to have readers take solace in the absurdity while relating to the grounded worries (of insecurity, growing up, and gaining self confidence despite unaccepting communities. Not the typhoon sex, though if you want to then you do you. I’ll judge but I doubt that’ll stop a specimen like yourself. Just make sure you don’t traumatize the children) that Jun experiences. As to explain the finding “solace in the absurdity” (I didn’t know how to word it better) I think the bizarreness in the story reflects how difficult and overwhelming such feelings are despite it being a common presence in our lives. Having our emotions being portrayed in such an explicit and expressive manner can comfort us validating the impact of such life changing experiences (though hopefully in a less exhibitionist manner) as while most life lessons seem banal on the outside to us personally they are fundamental to our existence and just as an emotional rollercoaster as two idiots having sex outside during a typhoon.

Ahahahahah. The effort of yours are so highly appreciated. I'm too speechless emotional bait caught in bizarre thing mangaka try to do. Your lengthy explanation really help to us lazy bum

I know the story doesn’t have a second lead since Danoh and Haru are ride or die, but he just exudes second lead syndrome. So I am begging on my knees saying please please please creator you must make Dowha the main character of a fluffy slice of life story where he could be happy and not be used a plot device to bring suffering to the person he loved most by simply existing. Also let Saheon (our squid fairy) be happy too. Instead on having just squid fairy be the only reoccurring character in this author’s story let his lover (I forgot your name sorry, though maybe author intentionally never revealed it) and him be that reoccurring odd couple that says a few meta and out of context words now and then. Screw all that let every character that appears throughout the story be happy. Dowha and Jihan (girlie who bestie with Judan and unrequited love for lawn mower hair Namjoo) should’ve paired up so they can find their own love. It was a shame that more female characters didn’t gain awareness like Dowha. I’m still conflicted on Haru though, I love the idea of a nameless extra figthing for their love and place in the world but he also seems like more a plot device than an actual person. It was only by contrivance that Danoh found him to be the cause of her heart beating rather than something like an event causing them to be drawn to one another. If Haru wasn’t completely dependent on Danoh to gain a sense of self of belonging then I think I would have enjoyed their relationship more. But what it turned out to be was that the only way Haru could feel like a person was Danoh cause she literally was his “whole world” as without her interacting with him, Haru would go back to being a nameless lost npc like the rest of the people throughout the comic. And because of that Haru’s whole personality was about Danoh and being in love with her and I loved how stubbornly he held on to his affection, him wanting to find belonging, and his self sacrificing gentleness but without Danoh he pretty much a nothing burger personality wise. I just wish they gave more autonomy to Haru and have his on life seperate from Danoh as he literally got his name from Danoh, but that would play against the setting of this comic. I just think with how the scenario is set up a nameless extra like him is too powerless and too dependent on Danoh to make up his character. So my thoughts basically amount to that Haru is a great idea but in practice needed more. I think if the main message and general story beats could have been achieved if Donah were to be paired up with any other character the comic creator named as the other character would, yknow, have their character, personality, and motives rather than a Haru who dependent on Danoh, like a follower of a god, to drive his actions. I think Dowha would have fit nicely mainly cause he is an interesting character, in the beginning he was setted up to be the ml to our fl Danoh (well more like baited for Haru), not a bitch like Kyung, and I just wanted him to get his deserved happy ending.

Bro bro bro I was all for the buff bottom and bunny top, but not like this T-T Why is Ain such a fuckin black flag. Someone tell me why does Michelle’s father exist. Just smite him already, he takes too much bandwidth and hatred for the story to the point overshadowing the main characters for me. This could’ve been a healing plot with gentle doormat top helping the traumatized bottom to move past the people who’ve hurt them in the past and become happy together. But nooooo Ain just has to drag innocent Michelle into this and instead of focusing on the rest of his shitty family. Theres no need to hurt Michelle, I’m sure there are others ways to hook, line, and sinker everyone but Michele to the 9th circle of hell where they belong so they can be chewed up eternally by satan’s stinky yucky breath. I just wanted cute and wholesome (following the typical plots of the artist’s past stories) size difference romance not a whole psychological thriller revenge plot which the innocent twink top gets drugged, gaslighted, and raped. This is not what I meant when I said I didn't want bottoms to not be raped…
