The top isn't equally ridiculous whatsoever though. He was always respectful at work, he's not trying to make the bottom jealous, his personality is very understanding and calm. I get that, this therefore makes the bottom think that the top's "realized feelings" are somewhat insincere and more leaning to pity than genuineness. It might look shallow to others but human emotions can be so complex, so for me, it's a kind of a complex story. The plot is simple, sure, but it's Shogo's emotional constipation (lol) that's making things paced this way which I actually find interesting. He's got things to process and realiaze, and heal from his past.
I like the slowburn and I hope we get a happy ending! These comments make me ?? but to each their own i guess.
