Ah okayy. I don’t think I can explain by order (like what happen first, second, and last) because it’s been too long, so I’ll just make it as list. If you have any follow up questions just askヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
1. As you can get from latest chapter, the crown prince (ML/Yulkian’s father) was alive (he faked suicide) and have met FL (Maddie/Yan) in the past. At that time, FL was running away from that obsessive creep (I’m sorry I forgot his name). That’s why Maddie kept saying she loves his face because she have met the father and he treats her with kindness.
2. The mad scientist who kidnapping Maddie and other children are actually that creep’s father. I can’t remember whether he adopt him or he’s indeed the bio-father. But the mother, step or bio, is actually The Empress.
3. Following number 2, the scientist and the empress are basically crazy af. They met before she married to The Emperor. Both of them, again, was mad, they experimented on kids and fall in love with each other. This was why I kinda forgot whether the creep are their bio-kid or not. There’s two possibilities, a) creep is bio kid, born after they fall in love, and making the creep part of experiment too, or b) the very first kid they get experimented on was the creep, who actually kidnapped just like every other kid, but because they fall in love, they start playing family. Either way, they are his parents.
4. None, again, none of the things that happen to ML/Yulkian was from The Emperor :( for me, this is the saddest part. The one who kill ML’s mother and threaten the whole family was actually The Empress. The Emperor indeed didn’t have a good relationship with the late crown prince, but it’s not to the point that he want to kill him. To summarise, Emperor (who once just a prince) meet Empress and fall for her at the very first sight. Empress being crazy af, never love him, and yet accept his proposal. And she feels like she want more than being a princess so she killed ML’s parents. This is why the little boy (ML’s nephew) is still alive eventho the red-haired betray the ML. Because he reported this “secret” to Emperor (the innocent) not Empress (the real villain).
I think that’s basically all the important parts of the story. I might have miss one or two thing, so just ask me if there’s something else you want to know (≧∀≦)
Does emperor know what empress did? And is he actually trying to protect ml by marrying him to someone he choose or is it empress's doing too?
The Emperor really didn’t know. He simply falls for her at the very sight (I mean, Empress indeed a beauty). In the end, Empress killed Emperor, even then, she unapologetically said she could never understand why Emperor loves her so much :(
And yes, Emperor simply think FL and ML didn’t match? Lol. He thought FL can’t be trusted and ML deserve someone better.
The “selected” noble lady was chosen by Emperor. As I said before, Emperor might dislike the late Crown Prince but he never hate him enough to kill him. And (if I remembering it correctly) he genuinely thought ML as his family and any noble lady is better than the slum lady (FL)
Wow she looks really innocent too. The story actually interesting. It is a bit too much romance centered i think. If they actually went more plot centered it would have become more interesting.
Yeahhh.. that’s why it’s kinda shocking to me. I know Emperor seems not that malicious towards ML, but to think it was The Empress all along. Plus how she in love with the mad scientist who tortured FL…

Why suddenly he being easily kidnapped?
Like okay, this red woman is way stronger than MC. But there was Namgoong family near them. A whole castle was there… Did they just let the MC kidnapped? Did they didn’t know MC or where his affiliation is? Did the MC still unrecognisable enough with all the blue robe and gold stitches on arms? Did they go blind when the MC killing the enemy here and there while leaving the Namgoong’s force unharmed?
There were even Namgoong Patriarch and elder near but MC still get kidnapped???? With how the woman is so healthy she act around MC disgustingly without any bandage/scar, did MC really get kidnapped THAT EASILY?????

This is just a theory. I read the novel but the website hadn’t finish translating them so I stop reading not so far from these recent chapters.
And even after reading this part on the novel, all they explaining was “the blood is splattered everywhere in the house.” Means, no dead body, no trace of human left, and also no single piece of meat left.
So this is what I want to believe…
First, its been known there are 3 family of the group’s members in this apartment complex. Baseball guy’s family is the only bloody-scene one while the other two houses are clean. Second, the fact that the apartment front door have been barricaded.
With this 2 informations, I thought there is a chance that they are alive. How? Firstly, imo, after they barred the front door and being safe for a while, their next problem is food scarcity. The solution will be to migrate as in leaving the complex. After that, there is a chance that a completely new group come to the complex. Seeing the front door is closed tightly, they thought it is a safe place, and decided to live there. And that’s when the monster come and killed them all (the new group).
I think this make sense because if the other two families fleeing, I believe they must be with baseball guy’s family too. In my understanding, their family quite close (like childhood friends or something?) so it doesn’t make sense that the two families leaving one behind.
Then let’s say, the two only flee after the one get attacked. Even if the monsters eat the whole family to the very last bit of pieces of their bodies, normally inside those pool of blood, they’d be narrations like “this is a ring my mother used to love” or “ah my sibling’s broken phone” or “my father’s eyeglasses on the bedside”. But no, for what I remembered, all they said was “a used knife that seems desperate to survive” and “trace of people trying to go inside some room to hide” and “blood splattered everywhere.” There’s no item, not even one, that can be labelled as “the family’s personal little item.”
So yeah, from deep down inside my heart, I wholeheartedly want to believe my theory is right ╥﹏╥

I can’t wait for daddy and mommy budding romanceeee (with all the steamy spoiler, how can I wait?), so I decided to read the novel.
Now I read it, the characters that I love, definitely become as great as I was expecting. And the characters that I hate was wrecked and I’m quite satisfied.
But, you see, I’m surprised there was a character that kinda stuck with me; the green-haired concubine…
Tbh, I didn’t even know whether to hate her or like her. I think I hate her but kinda love her guts. Like I understand her, but still don’t understand her. Like I actually root for her and hope she succeeds but I also want her to failed miserably at the same time.
Most of the time, I hate grey characters. Like pick a side, will you? And at the very least, if they aren’t a hero or villain, they’d be anti-hero or anti-villain. Or if they are supporting character, they’ll still be in line with one of the four type. Yet this woman isn’t quite fit to any (imho)
Honestly, I know daddy, mommy and little Leo would be supeeerbb. But now I’m kinda excited and interested to see how this green-haired gal would be portrayed in manhwa(〜￣△￣)〜
