How many times must they convince her that she will not be eaten? She consistently circles back to thinking so despite anyone telling her otherwise
Yeah, I stopped on chapter 5. I couldn't take every 3 seconds "Oh, so they really are gonna eat me!" Like, I get her village was destroyed and mother was killed by beastkin, allegedly, but geez. The guy carried you back to his castle after you fainted, ate lunch with you, suggested a bath, cut his claws and in the midst of that both he and the maid kept telling you they don't eat humans. I'm not looking for her to fall in love immediately and be all lovey dovey, but the shaking and quivering and constant "There gonna eat me!" is annoying
I'll wait until it gets more chapters. I have a feeling I'm gonna be skipping around in this one.
The court proceedings are ridiculous and I was so looking forward to the trial. The author should have done some research on law before writing these scenes. The attorneys are constantly arguing and jabbing at each other in ways that would never be permitted in an actual court and there’s no semblance of order to the ramblings. Why are the plaintiffs talking? Where are the examination, cross- examination and redirect?
I get that there is a fantasy setting with possible differences in proceedings but honestly this is such a mess.
Well....I mean....it's historical tho. OI Historical. And back during those days, not every country, kingdom, etc had viable court proceedings and procedures like it is now. Everywhere was different. Now, if this was a modern romance story, then I would say the same thing you're saying that the Authoe should have researches, but in Fanro/OI and places where it's a made up kingdom or country, I think we can give the Author a break.
BUT....I will say that them arguing back and forth all the time is annoying, but also entertaining in that it's getting my blood boiling bc I want this f*cking family to lose so bad.
The spoilers in the comments are aggravating me to no end, if what I read about upcoming betrayal and heartache are true then it would be in my best interest to drop this but I am already far too invested
If you can’t beat them… so here are my two cents for anyone interested based on hunches with no prior knowledge:
The holy emperor and his wife are Lucinas biological parents since the emperor is so keen on protecting her and his wife seems to have a similar appearance as Lucina. The emperor might not want to reveal Lucinas identity to continue to keep her safe. Maybe Lucina was kidnapped or lost as a child and Baron Berk kept her as a his illegitimate daughter to use as a political pawn and extort the emperor at some later point. It’s also possible that Baron Berk took Lucina in as a favor to the emperor to keep her safe and away from assassination plots against the royal family of the holy empire. However Lucinas past remained hidden after the barons passing as he told no one where she actually came from.
The blonde woman is a shapeshifter who mimics Lucinas looks, my thoughts are that the shapeshifter saw Lucina at some point when her hair was dyed blonde and based her appearance on that. What do yall think?
I feel betrayed. Can someone explain how this is finished already?
The ending was so rushed that the plot in the last chapters felt flat and undeserved. I really loved the idea of Soru and Yato loving each other as “an unfeeling monster” and “ill-omen death-bringer” but their romance got such little space that it felt underdeveloped. The last chapters just rushed through major plot points to the point of even skipping stuff?
I saw a spoiler from the novel that said something about Soru losing her memories (as well as her feelings for Jahyun) before developing a relationship with Yato which seems way more appropriate. I can’t imagine her moving on without ever seeing Jahyun again when she has been so attached to him for the majority of the story.
GO HEEJAE GOO!!!
