As a certified cat lady, I give the side eye when someone specifically hates cats BUT says they love dogs. I interpret it as that someone only liking pets that obey them and love them no matter how they're treated (most dogs) instead of having to work hard to earn their love and trust (most cats). The fact there are actual couples out there who prohibits their partner or themselves from interacting with the gender they're attracted to, this is mostly on straight couple.
