Quite the opposite for me. I feel like I've gotten more reserved when it comes to BL/Yaoi. I was about the same age when I started too but no one judged me for it and I kinda grew wild. writing is just the vehicle for ideas, so while the ideas are important for substance, personal interest and enjoyment, in the end, identifying something as "well-written" is based on the execution of the narrative. something could have great ideas even to the point of memorability and still be poorly written, lacking in execution.

Yaoi shouldn't be normalized amongst the youth due to its high sexual content however gay representation in entertainment should be normalized and even with yaoi’s high sexual content I don't think its fair to be harshly judged for it.
