unless you're on the older side I fear you should just let them go through your phone, as someone who's parent never monitored anything it will almost always end up going badly. reply
while it’s still english, so still the same language, in Australia we call it fairy floss, not sure why we call it that but i like it, though i am 99.99% sure we get the floss part from the British who call it candy floss, no idea where we got the idea for the fairy part (maybe because of the colour and the fact that it’s most commonly a thing ...... 1 reply
Lowkey rant time. I don't really want this to be a "well I turned out fine" type of thing, but sometimes I genuinely hate how ppl blame shit like porn or whatever fiction on people acting wrong.
Like, I'm sorry ur grown ass adult boyfriend shouldn't be taking all of his understanding of sex from porn actually, no matter how much he watches. But he...... 1 reply
You seem like a child, so your parents are right to monitor you. The Internet is full of insane, evil, shady shit. You shouldn't even be on THIS SITE, so that's how I know your parents are right not to trust you.
Also, if they paid for ur phone and they are paying ur phone bill, internet bill, etc, you can't really go against their rules.
One day...... reply
Hot take, but if you are a minor, you shouldn't have full privacy. If you use websites like Mangago, then I think your parent should know. It's insane how I see people here aged between 8 and 13. Not only are there predators here, but rape works will literally ruin your outlook on how sex works. being a kid where you start learning stuff. Porn is n...... 3 reply
Switch to messaging apps that has end to end encryption if you need to talk to your friends like whatsapp. Just disable the backup thing. You really cant escape this if they pay for your stuff. Until you move out or get your own money. You can just do private browsing but the sites you visit are still accessible if needed
Or just confront you par...... reply
Haha.. mine still do that and mind you I have been working for 2 years already.
And it's not like they genuinely feel I have a bf... They are cool with my male friends and colleagues...
But I don't know they are always like you will always be a kid to us.. never hide things from us .. we only care for you..
I have just given up.. but their moni...... reply
Idk your age but that’s some crazy situation. It’s just an intrusion of privacy and it’s kind of obsessive behaviour. I don’t have any concrete solutions for you but I hope you’re ok in your family because it’s a fck red flag for me. 1 reply
Literally last month my father creeped up on me in the middle of the night and tooky phone and lo and behold, I was reading yaoi smut ( I don't even know which one; it was completely by accident) but mind you I live in a Muslim household and I had an emotional breakdown in front of him like i literally got to my knees and begged him to let it go an...... 2 reply
Parents are doing that…? That’s an invasion of privacy. Idk how old you are, but you might need to hide your apps and up the security on it before you can eventually move out and go low contact. They sound controlling. reply
My parents checked it one time in their entire life, it was after I came out as gay. They never searched it again I think I Traumatized them enough reply
Honestly I'd hit them with some research about not respecting their children's privacy infringes on your trust, personal feelings of safety, and privacy. Do some research and present them with a case. Show evidence in the form of printed research articles about it and highlight the professional advice to respect privacy. Lawyer it up. It would also...... reply
Your phone should allow you to remove apps from your homescreen. If they don’t know you have certain apps and stuff they shouldn’t be able to find them.
For your yaoi, instead of leaving the tabs open whenever you’re done reading close the tab and write your chapter number down in either a Google doc or your notes app. If they ask what the c...... 2 reply
inb4 when my parents still do this I had a separate user account (not email account) on my phone where i do my usual stuff and when its time for them to check my phone I just switch it back to the other account where its all normal lol. Its kind of like in a laptop or computer where u can add separate user accounts and can be accessed only by cert...... reply
