MC IS an abuse victim.
But that doesn’t excuse atrocious writing. She suffers from poor character development and author seems to love flaunting her pikachu face all the time. Abuse victim? Why are you always giving full page spreads of her golden hair flowing and and her pikachu face taking up half the chapter. I want to know more about her trauma, not her constant wardrobe changes. Give me more insight into her past and her struggles, not the COMMENT SECTION filling in the plot for me when you’re not doing it and instead trying to show us how cute she is. Sorry guys I’m out.
Well she live in confinement since she was a child never got to go to school never got to hang out with people her own age and never got the chance to grow up so her being 18 does not have any relevance she acts like a kid because she still is one her mental age isn't technically the same as her physical one
Correct. And while it is shown a little, I do think it would be interesting to see more of how her past traumas effects her. But again, the plot is really slow and we're not that deep into the story yet so i think it's still too early to make any comments on it. I think the author will go more into it tho. But they might not go TOO into it, considering the tone. Fluff is importnant, afterall (。^‿‿^。)
UNPOPULAR OPINION BEWARE. POTENTIAL TRIGGER.
Hailynn is a failure of a MAIN CHARACTER, borderline Mary Sue. A barbie doll. Why? Because the author oversold her 'adorable-ness' completely, to the point that it's everywhere. How people can compare her to Athy from WMMAP is beyond me. Athy has more character development in one finger than Hailynn has in all 24 chapters. Athy makes her young self believable, even though there's an adult inside.
Here, you would think with the mages introduction, we can get their background. But no, the first thing the mages literally did was to point out Hailynn's adorable, and fanboys the way she walks. LIKE WHO ARE THEY? Do their characters exist just to show us she's cute? Her father's advisor thinks she's adorable. WHY DO YOU ALWAYS POINT IT OUT. Every people want her. More emphasis is place on her hair and clothes instead of giving her character development she desperately needs. She gets full page spreads on her hair and clothes, and her thoughts are dumbed down to a baby's, which is actually ok, she's a trauma victim or so I like to believe. But where's the trauma? I want to see how she deals with her past and why she's talking and thinking the way she is now. But all I can see is the author putting more effort into her clothes and braided hair and she can't seem to close her mouth.
i wouldn’t go as far as a failure of a mc, but she does get on my nerves sometimes. it’s only 20 chapters in so we might get some development later. and yes, she is a trauma victim. she barely received any education in her teen/adult years so it explains why she’s so naive and stupid. however, i definitely agree with your point where the author tries too hard to make her a “mary sue” and that characters exist just to point out how cute she is. but i believe most shoujo daughter/father stories have mary sue mcs (leslie from contract daughter or smth, tho she does sorta get her development later) it is wut it is ┗( T﹏T )┛
i’ll probably continue reading tho, the art is cute
There was no unresolved ends. I’m sorry, but those who kept defending and saying Hozumi has traumatic issues to the point of being crippled, hence the endless crying, projected WAY TOO MUCH of themselves onto him, when it was clear the author never intended to take it so far, and was clearly gonna wrap everything up loosely. This is not disregarding people who connected to his abandonment of their parents, not at all. You’ve experienced the real trauma, and you’ve indeed come a long way.
But you see, this was never a case study on how Hozumi was gonna deal with this so called trauma people believed him to have. It was already obvious cos whenever he cries, SHOUJO BUBBLES always surround him, that whatever issues he had was gonna be lightly touched on, solved by the power of yaoi. The author simply thinks it’s cute and resolved everything with a sexed up happy ending. The fact that he is ok with his mom giving up everything for her partner the way he says he would for Yamato tells you that it’s already unrealistic in the first place. Nobody in RL thinks like that. That’s really all there is to it, and it’s disappointing, for the readers who thinks he bloody cries too much like a hysterical uke gone wrong, and for the readers who experienced genuine abandonment issues from their own parents. But unfortunately this is yaoi.
I don’t like her artwork here, she looks like a freaking child in manga, but she’s a growing lady in webnovel. She can get married to anyone being a princess so it’s possible she’ll get married to an old geezer, heck, shes trying to prevent political marriage so I don’t get the whole complaints about age gap. Give the girl a break and let her love her man. Btw Leon doesn’t think of her that way yet so it’s just her side so don’t go calling our knight pedo when he didn’t even do anything except protect our FL lol. I forgot about Lutz too cos he only shows up like maybe 5% of the story and he’s just a little kid to me.
This reminds me of Love Is Not An Illusion all over again. Half the readers hated the uke there for being stupid (middle of series), the other half defended him cos of his apparently sad tragic background and all.
Makes you wonder if Hozumi would’ve still been considered a “cute cinnamon roll” if he had been a 17 yr old teenage girl with boobs and a vagina who cries all the time, especially over Yamato. Yeah, I figured not.
One half thinks the other uke is a stupid uke bastard who abandoned his baby and the dad. The other half forgives the uke for everything because, that’s just the way he was brought up.
Reminds me of the situation here. Half of readers think the uke cries too much and way too easily. The other thinks it’s ok because of his trauma. Personally, I think had he been a shoujo heroine with boobs, he would not have been so easily forgiven, let alone being considered a ‘cinnamon roll’.
so u think rather than it being 50/50, if he was a girl, most readers would dislike him for crying?
i think its not totally black and white. i mean, its possible that an MC that cries a lot is more common in shoujo, so ppl that read shoujo may be tired of that trope. i don't think "crybaby" MCs are as common in BL, so people are more lax towards it. i mean most of the time i see the ukes cry in a manga its just during sex lol. but i could be wrong. i mean, most people that read shoujos are girls, so i just wonder why they would be so judgmental against their own gender?
or maybe its less that they are hateful of women and more that they infantilize gay people? like "ooh he's a wittle baby he doesnt know any better"? idk haha. i dont really disagree with you! i do agree ppl tend to be more forgiving to men being emotional and dont treat them like they're hysterical bc its "that time of the month" -_-
also why do u keep bringing up boobs lol?
The boobs are totally a thing lol. Go to any female/shoujo work, see a schoolgirl heroine crying over something similar, can’t share to Yamato what’s bothering her, get sexed up and watch the readers get annoyed and flame her to bits. Here, he has a schlong (as hard as it is to believe) and becomes everyone’s fav cinnamon roll. All is ok, I’m just commenting on what I see.
This chapter is the perfect example of why this Ruve is a completely different person compared to his first life. EVERYTHING here he's doing was for Tia's sake. He's even admitted here that if things went as originally planned, he would've been deceived still but instead, he now talks and acts with Tia's needs in mind. One of the reasons why I now support Ruve over Carsein is because Ruve can do so much more for Tia being a person of influence, and he's now distinguished himself from the poisoned asshole who died miserably. I know all of them were victims in their past lives, even Jieun. But here, he's completely changed. For this, I now can enjoy reading the story knowing NOTHING Jieun does can make him shake his love for Tia. Even at the end, EVERYONE, even Jieun, treats first and second Ruve as different people. First Ruve was Jieun's Ruve. Second Ruve is Tia's Ruve. Jieun, in the end, couldn't recognize who this Ruve was at all and gave up her revenge.
For those who can't separate the two, It's gonna be tough for you. Cos the two really are going to have their happy ending, and at this point, I can't see how the prince can offer Tia even less than how Carsein might've offered, that is, if Tia was even interested in Carsein, which she never was.
I agree. I don't get why they're hating on Ruve. Come on, he's trying his best to win her heart. He's not even pressuring her or shit, he's being considerate and I think that's wholesome. Besides, he was deceived and drugged in his past life, it wasn't his intention to act that way towards Tia, and I understand why he got insecure and stuff. Like who wouldn't?
Rabid crazy Medea/Heli shippers: "Stupid Bitch Psyche better watch her back, it's not even her body, better realize she's fooling around with Medea's body, I'll fuck her up if she messes everything up blahblahfuckingblah DIEEEEEE FOR OUR SHIP"
Medea: *returns back to her own body and sees broken foot* "pfft lol, oh, Psyche is fighting in her own way, this is exciting." *continues minding her own business*
LOL I just can't, I choked on my tea when reading that.
This will be stepping on many toes, but I just want to share... Am I the only one whose heart hurt when I read Ruve’s ending? He was an utter destructive bastard in Tia’s prologue, but in Ruve’s prologue and epilogue, it was just so different, so many things that Tia truly missed or saw wrong. The rape, the child, how he actually wanted to crown Tia’s child as crown prince, how he thought Tia was glad to get rid of her child...
When he died, I felt it was a form of redemption for him, because he never asked for forgiveness nor wanted to re-do things, all he thought of was Tia, until he died. I felt he really gave up and accepted his end with peace, even though his kingship crumbled and he was chased like a criminal.
It doesn’t excuse him whatsoever for the thing she did, but at the end, all I felt was pity for him, for the paranoia and turmoil that plagued him from beginning to the end, and how everything never allowed his sprout of feelings for Tia to truly blossom, until he saw it for himself in his final hours. I never felt he was ‘in love’ with Jieun, more like he accepted her because that’s how things should be.
The prince in second timeline is completely different, but I still somewhat feel for the prince of first timeline, that everything truly ended as a tragedy and the miscommunications and confusion never cleared up. Ahhhhh. :(

thank you! I just finished reading it. I feel zero remorse for him. He's story only pissed me off. It's so hard because clearly he is a better person in the second timeline, but it's only because he got interested in her because she showed fear and anger after what he did to her. So like yes I think we should forgive him( after all it isn't something he did in his second lifetime) but no way does he deserve her. Because forgiving is one thing and having a romantic relationship is another. I still vote carrot
I guess it’s probably because I heard there’s conflicting prologues that I went into this more or less not taking sides that it eased me into reading his POV and seeing how things are. Not to say you’re wrong at all, but I think the tragedy is because things were so irredeemable in the first timeline that you know things couldN’t have ended any other way for him. The second timeline is ‘what happens when things are right’ and I appreciated that. It also helps that I don’t ship anyone and I’m not really as fond of Tia as everyone else.

Poll time. Which camp are you? (Will update results along the way.)
THUMBS UP (31) - Hailynn is a precious snowflake, she is so cute, I love her outfits.
THUMBS DOWN (15) - I want to punch Hailynn’s *O* face and clamp her jaw shut so she can keep her mouth closed. Her cuteness is annoying.
I NEED THEM TO DRAW HER WITH HER MOUTH CLOSED PLEASE ITS ALL I LOOK AT
I have a child at home that have his mouth open most of the time....
So... Lynn (*o*) face doesn’t bother me much...

For me, everytime I see her fashion shows and chick face, I really do want to smack her and see if flowers sprout behind her background like what’s happening right now in virtually every chapter. Storytelling was horrible but I stayed for the dad though. #sorrynotsorry
now thats will be all am going to look at thanks 2 u
