I read stories with dark/heavy themes. like depression, suicidal, abuse, reading one that has similar themes to what I go through is helpful. or even one that is more unfortunate than me. projecting your depression to a depressed character is also fun. my usual victim is ORV yjh and kdj   reply

i sleep or try too … sometimes i binge a shit ton of smut and angst just to feel something idk. i also find baking helpful to take your mind off things because it makes you focus on the tasks at hand and by the end hopefully you succeed in making a delicious treat. honestly getting off your phone is useful too, take a walk while listening to musi......   reply

In my darkest hours, I would just think about wanting to know what happened next in whatever I was watching. It got me through some dark times. Also, I used to read some fucked up shit to make me feel better. Like, “wow, someone else is having a worst time than me”. i usually play or watch things that make me happy and heavily avoid things that make me sad. just distracting yourself from the bad and focusing on the good can help for awhile, but getting it off your chest and talking about how you're feeling could very much help for long-term. just in my slight experience! cheer up buttercup   1 reply

Sweets help almost all the time for me. If I feel down I just eat some sweet snacks and forget about everything else. But there were times when I don't wanna (or just can't) eat or drink anything, I'll just cry. Crying helps venting out my frustration, and then I ended up getting sleepy amd then just go sleep.
