Oh no hopefully not I was thinking the same after the last few days with no other updates. Surely there's some way that non rated ones could be restored aswell. Could you reply if you hear anything else back from them hopefully better news!

I just checked my lists and they not back only some of the I want to read list came back but this not even half of them, the already read and reading didn't came back so does this mean that's it??

Yeah, someone got the same response a day or so ago. But they said they just wouldn't restore it - not that they couldn't. I wish if people sent emails they would share accurately quotes information instead of paraphrases because it leaves more speculation - especially when people already have some non-rated manga restored.

That sucks. Most of my currently reading weren't tagged or rated. I wait till I finish it or at least the first season ends before I add tags/ ratings

Me: Hi. I know you guys are working hard to help everyone get their manga back since the lists have been erased but I have a serious question. If we didnt rate the manga and just added it to the already read, reading and want to read lists, will we get them back?
Some people said that it’s actually up till 2023 that stuff has come back but I’ve been saving stuff since about 2016-2017. And only three things have come back. Everyone is confused and panicking and I just want some personal clarity for myself.

i kinda had a feeling that was the case, since the only manga/manhwa coming back are the ones i rated—and i’ve only rated like 100 out of 800+ on my list. i guess i'll just make peace with losing 6 years worth of lists...

So that's only 204 of like thousand of my manga re back hahahhahaha. Thank you for this update and clarification. I have Excel sheet on around 700 manga I've read until last summer. But didn't update it after. I still don't want to add anything back until it's confirmed any fixing is 100% done. If nothing else comes back, hopefully I'll remember some random titles I've missed saving in Excel hahahhahahah

Ain't no way they telling me to add everything again, I got 600+ wanting to read, 500+ reading and 100+ finished reading.. that's almost 1K and it's already been stacked for years T^T

i never ever used the tags, only when i pressed them on accident. i got a few titles back, all in my want to read list, all of them are tagged. i had over 5000 entries combined in want, read, reading, like 95% weren't tagged, really really hoping the des find a way to restore all entries, even the untagged ones, now i'll be tagging everything once i'm adding the titles back and maintenance is truly done >.<

Modifying your lists could mess them up later, and re adding things updates the registration date! I advise you to wait until the fixing process is finished

Tbh I don't think it can. Theres too much contrasting information - some people claiming they have non-rated back, devs saying they cant restore it (I think if they genuinely can't, it would make more sense - if they just don't want to, it wouldn't make sense to restore our rated stuff too lol)

I'm personally waiting it out. My friend emailed asking if it's okay to change our lists so as soon as she gets a response, if it's a green light I'm just gonna continue as normal. Not like anyone can help it, it was sudden and unexpected and it's not really their fault like some people are saying.

● I ADDED NEW MANGAS TO MY EMPTY LIST, WILL IT OVERWRITE THE OLD ONE
- if you ADD NEW mangas while the site is restoring, your new list will stay. And your original list will be added back on top of it once its fully restored. But if you RE-ADD EXISTING mangas, it will update the original date of when the manga was added, tags, and summaries/little notes you originally had for it. its usually best to wait and let the restoration finish before making lots of changes

Omg me too literally used the rate feature for the first time today after finding this out. I only use the read, already read or want to read functions. And I usually put the chapter I left off at before it updates if im ready an incomplete story so I could see what chapter I was caught up from before the story ends. I'm devastated I lost all of that

How do you find your comments

Here is the thing, I think the devs should make a God damned post explaining things, not people who think they know what is going on. This just creates confusion, and misinformation, of course people are going to be mad or worried about something they put 10 years in (in my case). So they should have made a statement themselves from the fucking beginning. Now if it crashed, unless they backed it up somewhere else its lost, there is no moving it.

Now in my case: I got a lot back but some of my "to read" and "reading" are hidden in my "reading list", even if they are not rated, still some are not even back. My advice just put them there again, even if the time stamps moves. Its still going to be wonky anyways. And check your lists created by you (with your titles), mine are back and I have titles there that I am moving to my reading and to read list.

100% sure that unrated stuff have returned. My want to read list is back and I don't rate things I haven't read yet. Nor add tags.

Yall im actually gonna crash out. I had roughly around 8k+ manga and barely any of them have tags or ratings. 6 years of data down the drain this genuinely makes me not even want to keep reading. I had like 5k in want to read 600+ in currently and like 2k(I think) in already read.

That genuinely sucks so bad. I used this site exclusively because i liked having my a list and the ability to see how much i have read. I litterally only ever rated 2 mangas on accident and those are the only ones i have gotten back and it kinda gave me hope that they still had my data. It's kinda silly to be upset at a piracy site malfunction and i shouod have definitely had a backup but even when i tried moving my list to MAL a while back i gave up because most of the manga wasnt even on it but i kinda wish i added whatever i could anyways

I feel you. I had 1500+ want to read, 80ish reading and 650+ already read. (it is far less than yours but the p a i n is so real). I literally kind of gave up but then a few friends of mine helped me calm down and are literally now staying up with me to add all my stuff back (or at least what I remembered. Honestly if it wasnt for them I would probably feel very deject.

I used to add tags for everything, but then they updated the ui some years ago and ever since it became impossible to create tags on mobile

Well.. I have rated a lot of Manhwa / webtoon and atm mostly manga were brought back to my already read. Which means they haven't gotten to mine yet. So I will wait. Also.
If u check my already read a lot were not rated or tagged but were also brought back.. I dunno which to believe anymore so I'll give them a month. March comes I'll re add titles. Sigh...

This is so frustrating bro I joined in 2018 so I had thousands of mangas/webtoons on my lists. None of my "all read" have come back.

i totally get this. it actually makes me so sad as i had so much and i don't even remember what 99% were even called. now i had to go through 10+ years of manga to even hope i can find all of them again. my list of 10 years are gone and i almost just wanna cry.

You might already know, so apologies if not, but there’s a way to bookmark where you are in the manga on the page. I only mention it because it’s harder to see on mobiles I think

No joke it’s draining…. This is the second time for me to loose everything first with an app years ago and now here at least the app send a message saying they were going to stop and switch to a different format and we could back up the manga we had (bcz it was a monthly paid subscription) but after a couple of years the back ups stopped working also.

I only rated a couple of things thank you for ensuring this :'))) at least I won't have false hopes anymore.

For my reading list I didn't tag or rate anything because I wasn't done with them yet but I would always save the reading with a comment saying what chapter I left off of...does that help get them back?

Nope, some of my titles where I commented the chapter I left off but not tagged didn't come back. I think the deciding factor is if you've tagged something.

I noticed that mangas on recommendation lists are completely unaffected. I suppose it's time to change strategy and add new titles to reading lists and recommendations, as well as rate, tag, and leave at least a single comment.

Forgot to mention that bookmarks are also unaffected. It's time to scrape the rest, folks. ;;

dats bs there are still a lot people with rated/tagged and marked books that are still missing or not fixed yet and that includes me. i only got 2 mangas that i get updated back at feb2-3 but it was put in my “i already read” list and not it my “i’m reading” list or tagged as “waiting for the next update”. my “i’m reading” list still empty and i only got 1k+ in my “i want to read” and only 26 in my “i already read”.

it’s just so tiring to always keep up with new posts and going back to old post and always see the same thing all over

At this point they may as well tell us straight what happened. Usually, a website would also have backup servers in case something like this happens, unless they don't have the funds for it, but even hosts provide backups these days.

I had over 1k, if not almost 2k, or over, titles on my reading lists. Very few tagged and rated. The fact that I barely got 40 back, not even in the correct list is annoying.

Soooo if I don’t care about tags/dates/comments, I can just rebuild and continue as normal? Thats what I’m hearing lol

Yeah, mistakes happen & yeah it's hard to predict something like this could've happened. But you know what? This was an unacceptable way to handle an issue on the website's end & telling people not to react is absolute BS. Saying we should be grateful because "it's free" is the same as saying the website should be grateful it HAS any foot traffic / readers using their site. It's just a shoddy thing to react with towards people that were happy to be here & enjoyed using the site until this F-up nobody wants to be accountable for.

For sure we are not getting them back. I had thousands of titles and they're all gone... But I recommend "all genres" section. I was able to find hundreds of the one I lost. It took me maybe 15 minutes. Maybe I will not be able to find everything from the past but it's enough ;)

No. I didn't email. I originally did add a few but stopped when the first FAQ of information released saying it wasn't the best idea. After that I quite literally just waited lol. Had about 1.2k before, as far as I'm aware, and all of mine have been restored including the ones I forgot to rate. My notifications are normal now too. I've since added to my lists with no issues personally.

Ohhh same situation with me I guess, didn't realize something was wrong until I added 1 or 2. I thought this was the reason why they never came back but ig not...

I created this my new account in 2020 because I couldn't get my old one back, I recreated my Already read list adding thousands of titles here... only to lose it again... I've got back like 2k... gosh

Really discouraging.. even now I just don't feel like adding titles back, haven’t read much lately, just don't feel like it's my page anymore. I go everyday to check and nope... I don't feel like scavenging thousands of titles just to bring em all back then site crash again and they fck me all over again. All my notes, my efforts looking for tags summaries and writing all recaps and reviews. Gone. I just don't feel like putting the same effort again to only be betrayed by this site. Been here since early 2010s, it's so disappointing.

It shouldn't really impact it tbh, I added hundreds of mine back in a panic and my already read list returned. There are several possible reasons - non-rated manga are being done later, their focus is rated manga right now, you could've been missed on the first pass which finished last night, in which case it might restore on the second pass which is any time now.

It could be bc your stories weren't rated. That's the case for me, only the ones I accidentally rated have re appeared

Oh! It is important to say to try not add any more manga during the restoration progress though, lots of changes may cause issues :) if you read any manga add it to a newly created list, bookmark it or save the links on a Google doc or notes app

Yes, I haven't added anything besides that one manhwa because I was just confused as to why it was no longer included in my reading list.

Just to be clear though, when talking about lists, we're pertaining to the ones labeled as "I want to read, I'm reading , and I already read" right? And not the other lists where you have a custom title?
