I'm ooooold and been through it all. Therapy absolutely helped during my self destructive teenage years. Well into my college years shit hit the fan and therapy helped again. I literally couldn't think for myself, I suffered a lot and had zero support, crawling back to a therapist helped me build a plan and accountability checkpoints. It only took ......   reply

My own therapy experiences have never been good. I always felt they saw me as a source of income. When I went to a psychiatrist, I felt they were just trying to get rid of me by giving me medication. When I went to a psychologist, I felt they saw me as a source of income and tried to prolong sessions with unnecessary details. I had suicidal thought......   reply

I was hesitant at first because I am self-aware as well and thought that counselling would be just a waste of time. However I was ac......   reply

It definitely helped me. It just depends on your therapist on how it'd work out. I struggled with mental health greatly back in 2024 but manage to be happy in 2025 throughout. I managed to fix some of my friendships and got closure. Not all of them though which is for the best. I don't like the person I once was and I'm actively trying to change my......   reply

Well... I've been depressed for half of my life by now. I switched a couple of therapists because the first one didn't fit my needs, the other said quite honestly that she couldn't be of any help for my problems and I've been "happily" seeing a psychiatrist for the last few years. The thing is: they do help. Really. You may be the most self aware p......   reply
