Guys I know this is a predominantly BL site, so I wanna ask here. Everywhere I look, I see yaoi. Am I the one which is too yaoipilled or people are js straight up ignoring obvious gay subtexts(or sometimes, even texts).
So, some of the ancient/historical examples I saw:
• Achilles and Patroclus (they're mostly accepted as lovers but still alot of people deny and say they were just really close friends)
• Alexander and Hephaestion (Again, they're mostly considered best pals, but Alexander's out of proportion reaction to Hephaestion's death and how they considered themselves akin to Achilles and Patroclus makes me question and go ‘Ayo?’ to their relationship dynamic)
• Gilgamesh and Enkidu (so many people say they were js friends and were straight bc Gilgamesh was a casanova (and coerced women to sleep with him), and Enkidu literally became ‘tame’ after sleeping with a woman, but their friendship is too chummy that it's sus. And what's more, Gilgamesh’s mother even accepts Enkidu as her own son and says to Gilgamesh, ‘You will love him like a wife’ or something along the lines of that. And Gilgamesh also rejects the goddess when she asks for marriage, and rather chooses to be with Enkidu, his best friend. (Although there was more reason of him rejecting her, but still this reason can also still stand which makes me raise eyebrows).
• the David x Jonathan saga in the Bible. Look, I'm not christian, but I js checked their story out (some christian replied to my comment talking about them and how not everything is gay, when David x Jonathan are doing VERY gay sh*t T_T). Like, wdym Jonathan immidiately liked David and felt soul connection? Taking off his robe and giving him his sword? David saying his love for him is more than he loves any woman? Yeah, that's very gay if you ask me.
• Rumi x Shamz : now people might argue that rumi wrote love proses for God, but he was literally writing for Shamz. Like, Shamz left Rumi & he was so devastated he wrote love and loss sonnets dedicated to him directly and indirectly, and not one or two, we're talking 3000+. That's dedication, ain't no way y'all can convince me that it was not love for Shamz but for God.
These are just some ancient stories, the manga stories are a tale of another time, because TRUST there are a lot of them which makes me suspicious but people TOTALLY fram them as besties exclusively.

so uhm i got this one friend whos diagnosed with bpd and depression. we met online but ive seen them multiple times irl so i did consider them as one of my friends.
so just a while ago they bursted out to me bcs they noticed that i removed them from my private social media account. i explained that i removed them plus all my other friends because i want to delete it (i dont rlly use that account except for game clips and shitpost). they kept on saying that they feel left out and i dont consider them as my friend etc. they also mention that they feel lonely bcs i didnt text much and they thought im distancing myself away bcs i hate them or smth. i explained myself so hard that theyre important in my life
and i didnt even hate them one bit. rn they dont reply to any of my text and im getting anxious.
i know this is not about that account and all
but i did think that this is kinda my fault for making them feel that way bcs im a bit closer to another of my friend but in the same circle. i mean the closeness is only in the surface bcs we dont even talk that much except when we’re in game. i genuinely never think of it a big of a deal bcs i rlly enjoy being w them both equally but ig the other one think otherwise.
just to be clear, i genuinely think that removing someone from a social media isnt a bit of a deal(they also had one that they think i didnt know but i lowkirkenuinely dont care.) i did think they react like that bcs i was more closer to idk if its important to mention this but im also not a big fan of texting constantly. i can go days or months of not interacting with my friends and i can still talk to them normally. i did say this to them multiple times, that im not a big fan of texting constantly, but ig reassurance is rlly a big part of their life.

it reminded me of how a friend of mine was taken revenge on by this other girl who outed her being a lesbian to her mom, dragging this situation to the principal and just humiliating her. she had to lie to everyone that she's not lesbian so rumors won't spread, i had to lie being straight too when people found out i was bi just so people won't turn their backs on me.
i think it's dumb to say that queerness is ''normalized enough'' when people are getting killed just for being queer.

Ok, tiny little nickpick but everytime i read a manhwa, it doesn't matter if it's BL or josei (don't think I've seen it in GL yet, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume), and there is a MAN wearing DRESS SHOES, they have NO SOCKS. I, a Beta employee works overtime in my office a lot and sometimes late at night I'd hear clapping sounds in the CEO's personal bathroom. I've asked other employees about it and they hear it too except for this new trainee who says he hears nothing, sometimes it's even followed by moans and screams. The janitor who cleans it said he would often find weird white goo. Similar to the ghost green goo in ghost buster. It's too much of a coincidence, these are all the signs of a ghost in the office. The CEO's bathroom is only for the CEO, so it's weird that every 6-7pm there's clappings and moanings. It can't be the alpha CEO doing all of that. I've noticed as well our new employee can't walk properly for no reason.

So! I never played dnd before and I want some ideas, please!
My friend is DM'ing and this is my first time playing. We will play beyond witchlight (plz, no spoilers) and she allowed us to use any race. Any. Freaking. Race. And I'm picking my race based on what my character will be losing, because that seemed fun.
My first ideas were aasimar or kalashtar losing their guides (angelic/spirit), or losing their connection. But if you take their guides they are just… humans. It's boring, I'm a noob, it's my first time playing, I'm allowed to be edgy and extra, it's the one campaign where I get a free pass to be edgy/extra, right? (I also feel like I'd feel compelled to make them warlocks if I went with either race, but that sounds like it'd be either very messy religiously or plain redundant, making the loss kinda irrelevant to a certain level).
So now I'm like, what do I do? I did consider being a warforged that forgot who was built sort of like a twin blade? And the other Warforged is what they lost in the carnival. But I don't know if a person can be what they lost and I really like connections (another down point for aasimar, they don't have a community), so I'd have to talk to other players and see if any of them would want to be the object of my warforged protection (I know it's not necessary but again, I really like connections and warforgeds don't seem to have many if not like this).
I'm open to any race that looks humanoid enough (again, first campaign, I wanna feel cool and have fun shamelessly but I'm not confident I'd like to play as a giant turtle, elephant or corvid).
Anything interesting, any ideas of things to be lost that'd be central to their identity to their understanding of their very self. (but open to other things to lose!)

But I don't know if a person can be what they lost and I really like connections (another down point for aasimar, they don't have a community), so I'd have to talk to other players and see if any of them would want to be the object of my warforged protection (I know it's not necessary but again, I really like connections and warforgeds don't seem to have many if not like this).
I'm open to any race that looks humanoid enough (again, first campaign, I wanna feel cool and have fun shamelessly but I'm not confident I'd like to play as a giant turtle, elephant or corvid).
Anything interesting, any ideas of things to be lost that'd be central to their identity to their understanding of their very self. (but open to other things to lose!)
