I did when I was younger. Then I changed genres and couldn't stop reading. If it happens to you, no matter the genre, I recommend getting a library card and taking out a physical book. Sit in a comfortable spot without your phone or any typical distractions nearby, and you should have no trouble staying focused. reply
its prob just a short attention span problem. when I start to feel like that I like to listen to classical music in the background while I'm reading. also reading a physical book definitely helps you get in the zone as well 1 reply

I really want to read a novel, but I don't know why I get distracted so easily, even though the story is interesting. I always do that. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I have a lot of novel recommendations from my friends, but I can't read them because of this.

Yes but welll...was not a reader during school days. We had books that were mandatory to read from Shakespeare--had zero interest in Romeo & Juliet. But for some reason I actually quite liked "Taming of the Shrew" by Shakespeare and one of the very very few books i actually read and finished/had fun reading.
