My heart is just shattered. ╥﹏╥ I have been skimming through raws since forever. And I took the time this evening to read the summaries by the lovely maryluz_mty on tumblr. I've so grateful to the people who let us have free access and share the material with us. <3
In chapter 38, we saw Soohyuk get taken away while he was sitting on the throne, with a cape on. He didn't wear the crown, so his intention was never to literally become the next ruler. He sat on Wolfgang's chair to sacrifice himself for his lover's sake. The people in red were expecting to capture Wolfgang, so they were surprised to see Soohyuk. But Soohyuk became a captive willingly. (I suspect that maybe this prolonged time for Wolfgang to leave the palace; resources would then be divided between searching for Wolfgang and dealing with Soohyuk.) Soohyuk ensured Wolfgang would be uninvolved and sent away, to protect the king. Even though Wolfgang had expressed that he wanted to know what Soohyuk was planning and that they fight together in chapter 34, Soohyuk knew his plan would fall apart if it were shared. Wolfgang would never agree to have Soohyuk be sacrificed. :(
The interrogation to Soohyuk is plain BRUTAL. He is tied to a chair for who knows how long. His fingers and toes are BLEEDING because all his nails (yes, toes and fingers - all 20 of them) have been ripped off. The people in red poured water on Soohyuk, without treating his wounds. Soohyuk has been burnt by an iron and his thighs are bleeding. His face is bruised, so he's been beaten. He was even fed a purple liquid, which can KILL him if the side effects kick in. And what do these people in red want from Soohyuk?? They want to know where Wolfgang is. But Soohyuk ENDURED all that, for the sake of Wolfgang's safety. Soohyuk is clearly placing Wolfgang's wellbeing over his own. And Soohyuk shows no regrets for the plan he made and the suffering he's facing now; because it's all worth it to him. :'(
The people in red leave the torture room. And Soohyuk, his knees on the floor with his hands tied to his back, after being forced to drink the purple liquid... Despite all the physical pain and mental resistance he faced, he remembers one image: Wolfgang's smile. With his forehead to the floor, not even having the energy to lift himself up, Soohyuk cries alone in this dark room. And Soohyuk says, "I, I love him... I love him..." with only Wolfgang's smile to hold onto. </3
The story has been so tragic. Soohyuk and Wolfgang are just so selfless. Here, we see Soohyuk willingly protecting Wolfgang by sacrificing himself. Soohyuk was misunderstood when he spent time with Duke Haiyen (redhead). Wolfgang was unconscious and sent away. But how will our king react when he finds out about Soohyuk's plan? I can already imagine how devastated Wolfgang will be when he finds Soohyuk... I'm getting reminded of when Soohyuk stood naked in the snow in the first season, and Wolfgang felt powerless. Even now that he's king, I can imagine that helpless feeling will return to Wolfgang :(
I hope Soohyuk gets all the rest and treatment he needs soon. <3 My poor baby doesn't deserve any of this. For the sake of love, you can do anything for that person. But that person will be devastated when he finds out what you lived through, Soohyuk!! Please cherish yourself :'(

Bruh I scanned the raws an hr ago and was depressed thinking that Soohyuk betrayed Wolfgang and was skimming to take the throne for himself after ALL this time and EVERYTHING they had gone through! I don't think I would've been able to fall asleep peacefully tonight (1:35am) But thanks to the Yaoi gods that I decided to reread some of the comments and found yours! I clicked the link so fast that even The Flash couldn't rival my speed anyways!
I feel so much better after checking out ch.39! I feel really bad for Soohyuk but I'm even MORE relieved he didn't betray Wolfgang. Idk if I'm ceazy for thinking like this but I felt like it was harder to handle the fact that he betrayed Wolfgang than him being tortured! Physical pain I feel, can't compare to the emotional/heartbreak pin caused by despicable betrayal. *sighs* I'm gonna stop rambling...but I do sincerely hope Wolfgang rescues Soohyuk and Kills all these motherf%$kers! And bring true peace to the Kingdom!

I'm glad you found my post and that this relieved what you were feeling before bedtime! It was 3:34 AM when I first posted lol. I'm someone who's totally got to let out the feels before I go to bed too xDD
I also find it interesting that there are readers who genuinely believed Soohyuk betrayed Wolfgang. After all that Soohyuk has been through to help Wolfgang be king and our young treasurer prioritizing the nation - that thought just couldn't sit well with me, because it completely went against his character; that's not how he was in the first season and what's been translated as of chapter 14 of the second season. Again, Soohyuk was sitting on the throne, but he didn't wear the crown. I thought that was a smooth indicator that, "Ah ha, we get to see the plan in motion." Before that as well, Soohyuk kissed Wolfgang on the forehead in chapter 34 and was on his knees beside the king's bed... There was a sense of sadness and longing to it, and there was certainly tenderness. (Wolfgang was asleep in that moment, so there was no reason for Soohyuk to act in whatever way for a sake of a plan; that action was from the heart) :'( I think one of the beauties of this story is that readers can be critical and not be quick to assume; not everything may be what it appears (●'◡'●)ﾉ - the story is just so intricate, and I really applaud Haga and Kang Ji-young for their work <33

So, if the physical injuries can heal, then I see what you mean about that being more tolerable than emotional pain. Being hurt emotionally can stay with someone for a lifetime... :/
I want some fluff afterwards lol!! I see what you mean. I think maybe some people thought Soohyuk betrayed Wolfgang, due to confusion (e.g. not reading the summaries). Not being able to read Korean can have some people rely on translator apps, which aren't always accurate ;-----; They can sometimes have the funniest translations honestly :P But the good news is that, when the story is translated, people will know Soohyuk never betrayed Wolfgang :-) I hope this will be a good demonstration for some readers to not be quick to assume, and to trust what we know. Even in real life, misunderstandings can occur when we think something happened based on what we see, without knowing the full story. ><
The song is sung very, very passionately! The emotions in ONE OK ROCK's live performance is phenomenal. As I was reading, the lyrics aligned. I totally see why YuYang received flashbacks while listening to Yuan sing; the lyrics really express loving someone from the bottom of your heart, no matter where they are :) And that does portray YuYang and LiHuan's relationship, since they spent so much time as they developed from schoolmates, to friends, all the hurdles they overcame before being a couple...And now, they can be together happily, without restraints <3
I see how this song can be applicable to all three pairings, despite each of them having very different circumstances. If Yuan genuinely likes someone else, I could totally feel Huan Wen appreciating our guitarist where both parties are currently :) It hurts to not be reciprocated, but I felt through Huan Wen's smile...he's happy for Yuan. Yuan has finally performed, expressing the emotions from his heart. And if through this performance, Yuan can now confess to his crush... That's great for him, right? </3 (It hurts us to see Huan Wen on the sidelines though... ╥﹏╥)

Listening to this song while rereading Qiu and Uncle Pan's moments had an impact on me. I felt Qiu's feelings for Uncle Pan even more passionately. Unlike me and probably other readers who were hurt that Uncle Pan left without saying a word, I FELT Qiu loving Uncle Pan genuinely and wholeheartedly. - Yes, Qiu and Uncle Pan don't have an incredibly deep relationship, but they were happy when they hung out. At least for Qiu, I felt the joy he felt to explore new experiences. I genuinely hope their relationship works out. I want them to be happy too. Qiu knows he wants to be with Uncle Pan, and now we're waiting for Uncle Pan's response... ><
I read this chapter in the morning before leaving my house, which helped energize the sleepy me ~___~ I can totally imagine something like this happening in real life, and the reactions and emotions all felt very genuine to me.
I felt Minato falling in love with Naoki. I think it's genuinely a good sign when your family likes him, and he's been doing a great job at babysitting Nagisa (Minato's younger sister)! Even if you don't become a romantic couple, I would see someone like Naoki in a good light. And I think Naoki's gestures are very sweet! When Naoki used a towel to dry Minato's hair from the rain, I felt like I understood what Minato was feeling: the warmth of being taken care. :)) Naoki isn't doing that for any personal gain; he does it as a kind soul.
I agree with other readers that it would have been alarming if Naoki decided to pursue a relationship with Minato, after Minato confessed. I see that Minato was living in the moment, and he wasn't sure if he would see Naoki again. Even if it was a reckless confession, that may be better than never confessing at all, and then having questions about what would have happened if Minato did confess.
The way the characters are drawn is gorgeous. That body language when Minato had his head down, as he held onto Naoki's shirt, and confessed... Through Minato's hands, I felt him pleading -hoping- Naoki to come back to Minato's family's bed and breakfast for the summers to come. I also sensed sadness when Minato had his head down, because of that uncertainty -that possibility- of never seeing Naoki again :((
Maybe this story is focusing on timing. Minato is 15, but when he becomes an adult, his views will develop. Maybe by then, Naoki would have resolved whatever is on his chest. Maybe Naoki being a NEET is necessary for him to heal from the loss he faced in the past... :( And it would indeed be a coincidence if Minato's father's sister knows the friend (their classmate) Naoki lost and is grieving right now!
I know Sanada will play a role in the future. I genuinely hope Sanada and Minato don't date in the future, unless Minato genuinely falls in love with the friend who has always been by his side... Since this story will have time-skips and our main characters should reunite, I hope this doesn't become a messy love triangle ><
Overall, I did like seeing Minato's courage! The courage it takes to confess to someone is not always easy, but I'm glad Minato got his answer. He knows that Naoki is not denying Minato because they're the same-sex, but it's because Minato is a child; a 15-year-old. So, there is room to explore once Minato becomes an adult, and I'm looking forward to that :))

It was HILARIOUS when Wolfgang's priority was to fix Soohyuk's glasses lol. Soohyuk prioritizing restoring Wolfgang's hair made sense, because we need the ruler to be protected lol. It's just so sweet that they think of each other first!! (≧∀≦) Their love is so precious to me <3
It was bittersweet when Wolfgang shared he regret not saving Dandelion... And we saw a field of dandelions to represent our loss ╥﹏╥ It's understandable why Wolfgang doesn't regret killing his father because the people benefited. (And Soohyuk is now free, no longer living as the previous king's possession ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~)
I want to know what Soohyuk's and Sys's fantasies were!! If Soohyuk had a romantic fantasy with Wolfgang, that's what I want to see! And the narration of Sys believing to have a solo ending, but now Wolfgang's dark-hair brother arrived... Will we get a side couple? ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
I'm so glad I took 1.25 hours to read chapters 18-22 and I reread chapter 23. What a lovely Saturday I'm having! I genuinely enjoy the changes I'm seeing. This may sound ironic since we're talking about a student body that is organized based on a caste system, which shouldn't be questioned, but I feel hopeful. I genuinely do.
There are moments like when Inukai said, "Kinda strange, isn't it? That someone from a totally different world could be in the same class as people like us, huh?", and Azusa retorted, "What's weird about that? They're just humans like us." It's moments like these that genuinely highlight that we're all humans, so it can be argued that we're all equal. Why is there a need to label and differentiate people? I think this story is a representation of how our society is structured. People feel entitled and feel powerful, once there is a label given to them and if they're born or married into a social class. But people aren't inherently powerful just because. It's all socially constructed.
I enjoy seeing Azusa stand up against what's not right, like the times when he punched that person who bumped into Atsumu (poor Atsumu had ice cream on his shirt); treating their group like nothing, and when Azusa stopped the queen from having his group swap spots so that she and her group could be ahead in line. People may downgrade you, but that doesn't mean you need to accept their treatment towards you.
I sometimes see questions like, "Why don't the students go to other schools?" There could be a multitude of reasons, like maybe the school is reputable so the parents want their children there; it could be the closest school to someone's house and another school would be too far to commute to; maybe the school has an academic program and notable teachers that other schools lack... Sometimes, people just bite their tongues and wait for the three years of high school to pass. Not everyone wants to deal with transferring and being a new kid, making new friends, getting to know people... Unfortunately, bullying does happen in real life, and we all deserve to be supported if we're victims of it or we know people who are impacted by it. Although, I recognize that not everyone receives help, so people learn to deal with it on their own and those skills could be transferred to the 'real world' (after graduation). Sometimes, people become resilient after hard situations, and sometimes we grow and learn too.
I like seeing the approaches people take. Anji realized how selfish he was when Inukai was trying to protect Anji all alone. But realizing that there was just enough with the hiding and to just be together freely, even if it means they're targets... There can be beauty to that. Is it worth it to live a life where you're not even yourself? Or, you're constantly hiding yourself? I'm thinking of how miserable Tatsumi continues to be from being forced to live a life he never chose, and we saw how happy he was when he and Senzaki were together. So, mob society can be scary because they control so much of our lives, but if we can be ourselves -and even better when we have someone with us- maybe it's not such a bad thing to go against what the majority says. :)
I like that we are seeing changes in how Karino and Azusa are communicating too. In chapter 19, Karino fingered Azusa to see how much was done by the people Inukai called. Karino was planning to just leave after checking on Azusa, yet Azusa was the one who asked to have sex. And it was Karino who watched Azusa take his own pace, until Karino then took the lead and looked at Azusa's face to ensure it was enjoyable for the two of them. So, it wasn't one-sided sex; there was mutual communication without many words :)
And of course, we have chapter 23. Karino said, "Lick it. If you bite me I'll leave you naked in the river and you'll become bird food." Azusa complied, not out of fear, but out of desire. Karino could have pushed Azusa's head, without even saying anything beforehand. Azusa even put his left hand around Karino's penis and took his own pace, by himself. Azusa was basically doing what felt good for HIMSELF, not just Karino. And that's a difference compared to the past when Karino raped Azusa, without preparation or an understanding of what the other party enjoys.
Even when Karino fingered Azusa and Azusa took his mouth away, Karino said, "Don't stop" and he guided Azusa's chin back to resume the blowjob. And Azusa's eyes were closed, out of pleasure, specifically focusing on that task. And when Karino said, "As special service, I'll open you slowly today," his left hand moved from Azusa's chin to where Azusa's ear was. Azusa even placed his right hand on Karino's thigh, which was comfortable for both parties. They weren't focused on just having sex quickly, but honestly feeling the pleasure together.
^ So, I can see why Azusa said Karino was acting weirdly. Karino was being attentive and slow, and patient lol. Karino thought Azusa was being weird for not continuing the sex, but he himself didn't realize he wasn't treating Azusa as a target. Karino was treating Azusa as a person. And that can be scary, considering that Azusa's been talking about wanting to take down the king; what would happen now that their feelings are becoming transparent?
I like that Karino and Azusa feel comfortable enough to talk with each other too. Azusa's "I don't want to on the futon," had Karino question what Azusa really wants then. "Huh? You clearly don't want to do it in the hallway. What is with you today?" was a way of Karino saying he knows Azusa's horny, so they could just have sex like usual and move on.
"It's like we're a couple" moves beyond being a king and a target. The way they behave where they talk, they learn more about each other, they're attentive to the point where sex feels like lovemaking... And Karino replying, "That doesn't matter right now, does it?" regarding their statuses was certainly a moment for them. They've always been acting in the context of being a king and a target, so without that, what reason do they have? Karino's "Don't go to sleep on your own. Wake up or I'll cum on your face," was similar to what he said before Azusa gave him a blowjob. Karino has threats, but he hasn't followed through with them, like stripping Azusa naked in front of the whole school or cumming on Azusa's face while our blonde boy was asleep. Karino has a soft spot for Azusa that he may not have acknowledged to himself. - Heck, in chapter 21, Karino asked Azusa what's wrong and left a drink to the latter, so Karino does watch out for Azusa.
I like seeing Azusa's sweetness too. Him wishing his mom finds a good boyfriend in chapter 21 was so sweet <33 She would be gushing with joy if she knew he wrote that at the shrine lol. And I like seeing Azusa hang out with people for once. And his team recognizes his kindness. :)) That time when Azusa climbed up the stairs to the shrine alone in chapter 20, so his team didn't have to was so sweet. Azusa didn't do it to get the credit, but with the others being tired and complaining, he took on the task alone. Azusa is a good leader.

It felt reassuring to see Azusa reach out, and there was a feeling that it was a mutual experience :)) I really appreciate seeing Karino pay attention to Azusa, and Azusa being honest with his desires. They're moving to a healthy path sexually, which I'm happy for! (Now we're waiting to see the romance develop... ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~)

There are honestly too many good moments in Caste Heaven... I love the times Senzaki and Tatsumi spent together. <3 They explored themselves without shame, and I just love that transparency! Tatsumi really showed the reality that some people face, where they have expectations from society that they need to follow, even if that means they're not being their true selves ;/
Azusa and Karino... I also adore the time when Azusa cooked for Karino. I thought it was so sweet when Karino said he doesn't generally eat tasty food; I loved how genuine it was when Karino said Azusa's cooking was tasty :') And when they had sex afterwards, I loved that they communicated! We're starting to see them enjoy their time together. ^^ That KISS was so sweet too ;------; Kissing in the morning during a walk...that was romantic <33
Their relationship didn't begin on a healthy note, but overall...I feel that love found them, you know? :) Azusa used to feel like he needed to shoulder all the obstacles the world gave him alone, and Karino used to only assert power when they were together. It feels nice to see Azusa connected with someone -relax in a way, and I believe Karino has felt content with Azusa too :) Their relationship, I think, gives the two of them experiences and emotions they haven't had before. And I like seeing that in their moments together...they're in their own world, and it feels reassuring somehow. I don't get the feeling that one party wants to leave the other person, or that they intend to "cheat" (well, they're not officially dating, but they don't intend on seeing other people either :P). So, I'm looking forward to seeing them grow :)

Happy New Year! You’re absolutely right with Senzaki and Tatsumi, I love how T went into the relationship as a way to find escapism and seemingly as a joke/experiment then ended up totally in love. If Senzaki doesn’t come back to the series or get a spin-off I will be very upset.
To be completely honest, whilst Karino and Azusa has found affection and perhaps even love, they don’t seem to be a couple that I see working out in the future unless K values A's opinions and views more, take his feelings into consideration and stop simply dragging A along whenever he feels like it. Hopefully when the piercings guy (forgot his name) threatens their relationship, K can grow a little.
Not going to lie, I have been thinking that a plot point such as Karino's politician dad getting found to be corrupt or immoral wouldn't be bad. I really want to see K being dragged off his pedestal and feeling a little vulnerable since he has been in control and superior to everyone else both inside and outside of the caste game. After all, K has an influential family and a future set out for him, and no matter how much the caste can affect your school life, it is only a game. So even if K has his title revoked by the reshuffle, his situation in life is vastly different to Azusa's so it may be interesting to see how he can adapt. But also I really like seeing semes feel vulnerable ;)
So, I realized I didn't read chapter 36 yet. I read that, and I read chapter 37 three days ago. I even looked through the past chapters building up to that emotional lovemaking scene. I just had this feeling like the characters aren't living contently. There's this empty feeling to it.
We know Yashiro continues to have sex, but it's to get information. And Doumeki has not engaged with another person these past four years. Yashiro and Misumi didn't even have sex, which is a contrast to their past where that was casual.
I don't know if Yashiro is living with a purpose either... He changes headquarters twice a year. Yes, it's to avoid getting into trouble with the police regarding his casino and any potential enemies from his past, but I think overall, Yashiro is running away. He's not facing his own feelings. We know Yashiro no longer has a crush on Kageyama, but he and Doumeki did not end through a transparent conversation either. Yashiro left Doumeki, and Doumeki being the stubborn person he is, -I think- continues to seek his former boss.
I just don't know what Yashiro's goal is?? The first 35 chapters was a long prologue to me, and now we're here seeing the characters find their way back to each other. I want Doumeki and Yashiro to have a healthy relationship by then.
I don't know what to look forward to anymore, besides Doumeki and Yashiro's reunion which we don't know when that would happen.

....I'm tired, and this was a quick read. So, I might have more to say about chapter 37 later... But...is anyone else's heart aching, at least a little bit, knowing that Doumeki and Yashiro separated for four years?? T____T I'm getting cold vibes, so it seems they haven't seen and talked with each other in THAT long! Yet, Doumeki still doesn't have a lover and he refuse to have casual sex, so I don't think he let the past go... Is Doumeki still being involved in the yakuza life to find Yashiro?? It seems like Doumeki's new boss doesn't know much about Yashiro's now-disbanded group, as if they just disappeared :/ Maybe that's great news, if the characters we met in the past 36 chapters are now living more normal and SAFER lives!!
It's also interesting to see how doting Niki's family is. Her grandfather didn't even want to imagine his grandchild being a yakuza leader, to the point where he gave the position to a subordinate instead of his son! That's saying something. Now, we see that Niki's father is the boss, but who will be his heir? It doesn't look like he's training his daughter to be a yakuza leader, and he wants her to live a normal -maybe sheltered- life. It's interesting to see that the females in the story aren't really doing the "hard" work.
Doumeki is still into Yashiro and vice versa.. Coz just like Yashiro said that Doumeki was the first guy that made him feel anxious in every way.. I just cant wait for d movie though
Completely. I have no doubt in my heart that Doumeki and Yashiro continue to have feelings for each other. It's thanks to Yashiro recognizing Doumeki's tenderness and sincerity for Doumeki to no longer fear being like his father and it being okay to be potent. Meanwhile, Doumeki respecting Yashiro as a person -seeing our elder's care, beauty, and selflessness- were qualities Yashiro never acknowledged in himself. I think it was the first time both parties faced mutual feelings, and they weren't sure how to handle it. Doumeki was ready to love and protect Yashiro, but Yashiro didn't want Doumeki to follow the elder forever.
Even now, Yashiro changes locations twice a year as the owner of a casino, which seems safer than living as a yakuza, but it's still not a stable job. I'm seeing that love is about circumstances, and it's not that love can prevail in every situation. We'll see what Doumeki and Yashiro will do now, and how they'll be together again :)
The animated movie should be great! I have faith in the voice actors, especially hearing them from the BLCDs in the past, so getting into character will be worthwhile on-screen too <33 I am curious about where the movie will end too.... ;c

I'm glad to see such a passionate, united response! :) When I see relationships like these, it reminds me of how unexpected life can be. Yashiro was so used to having a crush on Kageyama, and having sex for the sake of it, without ever expecting to meet someone who would genuinely love him. And we have Doumeki who just wanted to support his family, and he never dreamed of a romantic and sexual relationship for himself. I love that these two meeting each other and validating each other changed their own views of themselves, and it was made so clear that they're both worthy of being loved. <33 The mind could be so powerful in not having us seeing how beautiful we are, and I like seeing someone else's earnest beliefs, even if you don't think so about yourself.

I totally agree coz u can see that Yashiro and Doumeki made a better version of themselves after having each other around. They complimented each other in a way that they themselves were not even aware that it could possibly happen, but it happened anyway. Especially for Yashiro, he made it seem that Doumeki's effect in his life is no big deal and yet in reality, it was exemplary to the point wherein he himself had no idea that such thing could exist. I love the part when Yashiro and Doumeki are in the bathroom.. Yashiro admits that he doesn't know how to deal with Doumeki.. I love that he was able to muster his courage and openly admitting it to Doumeki since he s special to Yashiro. He is willing to show his vulnerability and having it laid out in the open. He acts like a spoiled baby when Doumeki told him to undress to dry his clothes.
Doumeki on the other hand just like what you said, he totally devoted himself to his family. Got himself absorbed by working his ass off just to provide for the family. Didn't think of himself to be engaged with anyone. Completely selfless... Until he met Yashiro where he didn't know his life will take a full 360deg turn. I'm savoring every bit of d story even the antagonists coz they are part of d story as well. Nanahara made loads of ruckus along the way but that's just because he loves Yashiro in his own way as their 'Kashira'.
Everytime I see guys posting request for recommendations of bl manga with good plot, I never miss out Saezuru. I've been always saying that Saezuru is not your typical yakuza bl story. It's a total masterpiece! Like 10 count, its a must read that I consider like a precious gem. That the story has a deeper meaning to it. The chapters, every turn of the story and the BLCDs are just too damn good. Shingaki Tarusuke and Hatano Wataru as seiyuus are just the best fit for these characters. It's like I can't imagine other seiyuus to play these roles.
I'm happy that I met someone who has the same cravings for these mangas. I mean not everyone appreciates special mangas like this. Some people read just for the sake of reading it. But of course anyone is free to do what they want. =)

I was looking through the manga today while I was searching for the BLCDs (my favourite team's website closed down ;-----; and I don't have the collection saved on my laptop... Long story short, while I was engaging with the BLCDs, that happened before I got my current laptop and then their website closed), and the feels came to me. Yashiro thought Doumeki was a 'safe' person to treat casually, since Doumeki was impotent and our youngster was not on the flirtatious side of life. (Remember that time Doumeki went to the sauna based on Yashiro's recommendation, and it was AFTER Doumeki left that he realized nothing happened? LOL!! XD) Yet, I think Doumeki's personality, where he's such a good listener and he served as Yashiro's underling was what made it so easy for Yashiro to open up to Doumeki. Doumeki saw Yashiro's feelings for Kageyama. And when I was looking at Yashiro's high school days with Kageyama, Yashiro fell in love with Kageyama...the moment Kageyama said thank you. It was when Yashiro was on his way to Kageyama's home after hearing that our doctor's father passed away, and Yashiro came even though it was raining. I think if someone looks at you genuinely in the eye, and they treat you with care...it's not hard at all to fall in love. Kageyama showed care to Yashiro, like the times our doctor treated our protagonist's wounds.
Doumeki is the type of person who showers his partner with love. He takes action, and he's not the type to constantly demand his partner to reciprocate. Doumeki's someone who I think follows, "Loving you is enough." Nanahara has questioned Doumeki about loving Yashiro before, whom is not easy to pursue and is not used to being loved. Yet, Doumeki is not someone who loves another because there is a benefit to it; you're already benefiting from loving them. Love isn't always something you can easily explain to others, so even after Yashiro lied about forgetting Doumeki and Nanahara asking Doumeki how far they've gone sexually, how could anyone understand, "Boss and I made love"? I don't think that's something the characters could envision, because they're aware that sex has been a part of Yashiro's life for so long. I think Yashiro's active sex life could be his way of coping after his stepfather raped him for years. If you normalize something horrible, then it may be easier for you to live with it.
I have soft spots for Misumi and Ryuuzaki. Ryuuzaki appreciated Yashiro's beauty, and he and Yashiro have their own connection too. Ryuuzaki knows Yashiro is kind, like the time Yashiro ensured Ryuuzaki's partner's safety before he went to jail. Misumi doesn't pressure Yashiro to come back to the yakuza world, or really put too much pressure on Yashiro four years ago. Everybody just knew Misumi favoured Yashiro, and that was about it. I don't even recall a scene when Misumi blackmailed Yashiro into doing anything either.
I have respect for people like Doumeki. (Doumeki reminds me of Apollo from Shangri La no Tori (●'◡'●)ﾉ ) They listen to their heart. They're passionate about what and who they believe in, despite what others say. Yashiro mentioned that Doumeki could have his pinky finger reattached (that time Doumeki spoon-fed Yashiro), but Doumeki leaves his finger as it is. I think that could be an easy reminder of Yashiro, which Doumeki would never regret.
A passionate lover. It's nice to see. ^^ I have faith when I think of characters like Doumeki. He's an example of someone who loves you wholeheartedly, where he saw you at your worst and he would love you no matter what.
My guess is that Tsunakawa will groom Doumeki to be his heir. Doumeki has already been "promoted," he is now basically a team leader with underlings. On the other end, Doumeki is most likely trying to gain power in the yakuza world so he can find Yashiro, even though Yashiro already left that life behind. I'm guessing further that Doumeki wants to be "equal" to Yashiro, a former wakagashira, so that they can finally start over their relationship as equals, and not as boss/subordinate.
In the previous chapters, Doumeki is starting to see beyond Yashiro's facade. Yashiro has been through hell and back, but he also has a lot of pride and will not accept blind loyalty or even love borne out of sympathy. Yashiro is still probably traumatized that Doumeki nearly died so many times protecting him. It will certainly take a lot of resilience from Doumeki to assuage Yashiro's fears.

So... chapters 3-5, including volume one extra, made me feel warm. I had a tough week, since I'm not feeling too well physically and I've been anxious, but these releases helped cheer me up! :))
I like seeing the sense of comfort that is building up between Apollo and Phi. It was so genuine when Apollo wondered if Phi was okay, and our foreplay man even waited outside Phi's room until the lights turned off! Apollo feeling regret about leaving Phi's room may have us see more moments of Apollo being nurturing, not just as a foreplay man to Phi, but as a person too :))
I appreciate that Phi is okay with Apollo going at his own pace. Other birds might complain about Apollo's "bare minimum" treatment (Apollo even refused to kiss Phi! xD) but Phi has been very patient.
I like that the foreplay men take care of the birds outside of the bedroom too. The foreplay men could literally go back to the brothel first, without the birds, but choosing to escort the birds home made me feel warm. It gave me a feeling that the birds are cared for as people. And we could see that from the boss when he took Phi's side after fighting with the client; the boss truly values his birds over disrespectful customers.
I look forward to seeing Apollo fall in love with Phi! Apollo's distant with Phi because he's the type to only make love with the person he loves x)) It's sweet. I could tell Phi loves Apollo's affections, from moments like when Apollo reached out and held Phi's hand to go back to the brothel and when he patted Phi's head. Seeing the way Apollo is made me curious about what it's like to have a lover who ONLY has eyes for you. Some people may call that obsessive, while others may find that wonderful... (づ￣ ³￣)づ
I also find it interesting that Apollo's wife doesn't want to divorce him, despite having an affair that he walked in on. Maybe Apollo is very clear-cut in love? He'd rather be separated and have a criminal record (assault), than take his wife's offer to stay married, where she would ensure her man doesn't press charges on Apollo and her family would pay for all the hospital bills and compensation. I see that Apollo's saving money to deal with all this mess, but what is he planning after that's all done? How long will he work as a foreplay man on the island? (The island seems like a nice way to get away from all that stress, so I want him to stay as long as he needs to x))

But thank you for the info, wouldn’t have known about Apollo’s situation if I haven’t read. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a lover who’s has eyes only for you, but I think a lot of people forget about the thin line between complete devotion vs being obsessive. ESP in this day in age when most young people have to fight to find a devoted partner since causal relationships are in the rise (no shade to anyone who partakes in one!! but I would prefer to have 1 partner)

Talking about devoted relationships and casual relations... I think there's an image of people (specifically young people) who aren't ready to settle down. So, they explore while they can, before or if they commit to one person. Is there a fear of rejection or being hurt? Sometimes, people don't put their all because if anything goes wrong, it can be harder to move on, compared to a casual relationship with no expectations of sincerity :/ I think it takes courage to pursue someone and even say "I love you" first, which Apollo embodies. Maybe if you're open and ready to love, then you can be clear about wanting commitment and you can see it happen if the other person feels the same way. Otherwise, it could be a cycle if you're constantly in casual relations. So, I think although Apollo's marriage is over, I get the feeling that he doesn't regret their relationship either. He did his best, and now he's adapting to life without her. (We'll see Apollo's devotion once he falls in love with Phi (●'◡'●)ﾉ )
We found out from the extra chapter that Phi is 26, and Apollo notes that Phi is eight years younger, which means Apollo is 34. We also saw Apollo casually mention that Douglas was flirtatious in college, but there are no mentions of Apollo being flirtatious during those days. I think it's Apollo's nature to be devoted to whoever or whatever he sets his eyes on. I like that trait of Apollo's. We see that being a foreplay man isn't a job suited for Apollo (he's so quiet and he doesn't kiss Phi lol), but Apollo still tries his best. To me, he's someone who puts his all with whatever situation he's committed to. So, it's unlikely that Apollo would change his mind and quit his foreplay job, to return to his wife and stay married to her, just so he wouldn't have a criminal record and would not pay the hospital bills and compensation for beating her man. He's true to himself :)
Now that we're talking about this... Apollo is genuine. He's pure. He doesn't seem like someone who likes to play with people's feelings. And I think that's one factor as to why he doesn't flower the birds with praises like his colleagues do lol. Instead of saying words like, "If it were me, I'd totally satisfy you, but unfortunately, I can't, so find a customer who can pleasure you, okay?" Apollo bluntly just says no lol. Although, it was an improvement when Apollo asked Phi, "Why are you so persistent in trying to get me to sleep with you? Why are you so hung up on it?", and after Phi replied that he's confident in his sexual techniques and he was annoyed about being rejected without even being given a chance, Apollo just said, "... Another time, okay?" We don't know if that time would come, but overall...you just can't bring yourself to be mad because you just feel like he's being honest.
Damn... Apollo is my type of guy ;--------; Sometimes, people say "good guys are hard to find," but I don't think so. They could be right beside us, but we don't notice it. I don't know why Apollo's wife cheated on him, but we could see that her opportunities with this man are over :/ Maybe that's good for the readers, because Apollo wouldn't have come to the island otherwise lol!

Totally agree with you! I am all for people expressing themselves, hell if you want to be in a relationship with 40 people and it makes you happy af, what does my opinion matter. I love that people are no longer under the impression that they have to settle down early, they have to be married by this time, etc. But again, there are those who still live by the book and that’s okay too.
To me Apollo is sort of perfect lol, like I said before I would love a devoted partner! It’s an insecurity of mine that I am not ashamed to have. Again we are in the age of causal relationships AND the age where cheating/having multiple partners is cool/good/okay. Sometimes these things happen without being exclusively mentioned and that’s how people get hurt. It’s a fear for me to fall for a partner just to have them betray me in the end. I don’t think Apollo had that fear, as it was said, he’d rather give the love than receive it! And I think those are the people that get hurt the most unfortunately. Too mangas where both the men Ana women walk out because they don’t feel loved enough or the were loved too much...whatever that meant lol. Enough ranting on my part lol. I am DEFINITELY looking forward to Apollo falling HARD and watching him change (▰˘◡˘▰). I know Zariya will make me want an Apollo or my own after they get all lovey-dovey. I'm more on the one-devoted-partner side too haha! I'm busy living my own life, and I think there is just so much effort that could go into meeting people, like your friends, let alone manage your time meeting various people casually. I think more than one person would be too much for me to handle, when I don't always devote time for myself lol. Heck, I notice that it's like I'm running against a clock, especially when it's a busy time of the year. :P So, for me, I just think it would be easier to have one partner than to think of various people and manage my time among them.
I'm also not someone who thinks you need to get married and have children by a certain time. I was out eating with an acquaintance/classmate once, and she got married in the summer; she's 24, turning 25 this year. She told me she wants to become parent before she's in her 30s because she wants to be in her child's life longer. She addressed that when you're in your 30s, you have less energy to play with kids too. So, she values creating a family, not pursuing further education immediately or travelling and spending alone time with her husband. I see where she's coming from, but I don't personally share those views.
I'm open to exploring life and living in the moment, even if it means marriage and parenthood comes later. I think if I were to get married and have children in my 20s, then I can't easily take breaks from work whenever I want to because I don't have seniority yet. Then, once there is seniority or more experience in my 30s and I want to hang out with my kids, they'll be around 15 and that's puberty where they typically want to have some time alone; I might not be very close with my children, especially if I spend my 20s working a lot to pay the bills. I don't see the harm in getting married later and having kids in your 30s to 40s, where you likely fulfilled your dreams education-wise and career-wise, and you might be able to afford to take some more time off to hang out with your kids. So, I prioritize quality over quantity. I've seen situations where people settle down while they're young, but that what-if in terms of their education, job, or even travelling looms over their head, and they might not get a chance later. :/
Everyone has their own path in life. I think it's important to do what you want and follow your heart. Ideally, don't have regrets :)

I wouldn’t say I’m patiently waiting, but I’m definitely waiting! How sweet is a sugar daddy was not one of my faves, some of these stories start off good- okay they have really ahem...nice “love” scenes lol. But the story lines are just not my cup of tea. Sadly there are a lot of bl that I feel are like that.

This might sound weird, but stories like Shangri La no Tori doesn't make me motivated to fall in love in a normal(?) way LOL. I don't mean that I'll go to a brothel (actually...I don't know if they still exist (⊙…⊙ )) or seek someone who does sex work, to find love. I just think there's so much beauty to living your life, and falling in love unexpectedly :) Where it happens on its own agenda, and you gradually get to know someone... I think it could be so easy to judge others based on their backgrounds, but when we see people for who they are; we respect each other, we validate each other, we appreciate each other... A genuine human connection <3

I wrote threads on How Sweet is a Sugar Daddy? too, since that story gave me a roller coaster of emotions - it showed me various perspectives and vulnerability; following your heart even when you're in an unconventional situation. Some Lezhin comics particularly did not have good endings last year; their company drama in how they treated the artists was a big factor to that :/

I like that this story shows us the effects the people we meet can have on us. I have a feeling that Uncle Pan’s ex-partner influenced our old man’s view on love now. When Unce Pan asked Qiu in chapter 93, “... Why’re you pursuing me? Isn’t it also to get something from me? What is attractiveness? Is it only on the surface? Last time, when you said: ‘This time I don’t want to play anymore…’ What did you mean? What do you hope to get from me? Little friend…” I love that Qiu took that moment to answer honestly, despite not being sure himself. That outburst, “I want to get your attention!” was so genuine, I like the expression on Uncle Pan’s face. Our elder clearly did not expect such a simple and sincere response. And that moment reminded me that love can indeed be that simple. You can just genuinely enjoy being with that person, and that’s it. You don’t need an elaborate reason to be with them at all.
Reading a draft I wrote about chapter 92 now, my thoughts on Uncle Pan’s ex-lover hasn’t changed… The ex came back so casually, maybe Uncle Pan and this person broke up on amicable terms. I feel that if Uncle Pan chooses to reunite with his ex, the pair will probably have stability. But does Uncle Pan want just a stable and comfortable relationship? Uncle Pan has the chance to experience adventure with Qiu (our young boy has moments of innocence, which Uncle Pan may have left behind long ago). And if Uncle Pan and Qiu become a couple, I hope to see Uncle Pan be passionate about something: to be passionately in love. It sounds cheesy, but we just haven't seen our uncle being doting to someone else, so I'm curious about what that would look like. I get the feeling that Uncle Pan has gotten used to his routine as a bar owner who lives alone and cooks alone. Routine can be fine because it makes us comfortable and some people like that predictability, but I would like to see Uncle Pan live with a passion he looks forward to. Heck, it would be cute to see Uncle Pan look forward to dates instead of Qiu chasing after and wanting to see Uncle all the time xD
When Uncle Pan was on the phone with his ex and decided to not wait for Qiu to meet his ex at the airport, I have a feeling Uncle Pan might just be going to say farewell. Uncle Pan is probably going to tell his ex in-person that they won’t get back together, and maybe that’s when he’ll acknowledge that he too likes being with Qiu?? I’d be sad if DJun does not turn Qiu and Uncle Pan into a couple after developing them… :( I don’t know much about Uncle Pan’s ex, but he didn’t even say “Happy Birthday” to our uncle when they were on the phone T___T I don’t get the vibe that the ex will be attentive and doting like Qiu has been lol.
Yi Ran, Qiu’s ex-girlfriend, seems sensible. Yi Ran said she sincerely wanted to build a relationship with Qiu, but since she chose to approach him after getting dumped by her new boyfriend, I don’t think Qiu’s character is awful then. Yi Ran doesn’t seem to blame Qiu now, and even though she slapped him before, they seem like good friends or acquaintances now. Qiu might not walk into a relationship with the clearest intentions, but he doesn’t start a relationship because he wants to hurt the other party either. And I think that’s something Yi Ran recognized. Otherwise, I don’t think anyone would approach their ex for comfort, after getting dumped by their new partner, if the ex was a jerk whom they’re still mad at.
I like that Qiu is reflective! If you don’t reflect, it’s easy to repeat the same mistakes or bad habits, without growing at all. Qiu realizing that he wants to be treated with sincerity is an honest moment, which I appreciate. Flashing money was his way of getting people’s attention, but it was superficial and not genuine like how Uncle Pan cares. :’)
I wasn’t in love with the patriarchy here: it’s typical to see fathers put the responsibility on the mothers to discipline the kid, and that they don’t see that they also have a role to play as a parent; Qiu’s dad is one of those people who don’t put the time to discipline his own child, being no different from a sperm donor. -_- Of course, not all fathers are like this, but it is sad too because there are still people -males- like this who walk around, acting as though it’s the woman’s job to raise the kid and it’s her fault if the kid acts up. Qiu’s dad just didn’t bother to think, “Maybe my child is causing trouble because he WANTS my attention”?? LOL. Honestly. Bad parenting right here.
Now that Qiu realized his reason for wanting to be with Uncle Pan, I think we can expect a good conversation between the potential couple. Uncle Pan seems like a responsible person to me, so I don’t think he would ghost Qiu. Even if Uncle Pan and Qiu don’t meet one-on-one, Qiu could always visit the bar and our young boy knows where our elder lives lol. Uncle Pan even thanked Qiu for celebrating his birthday together and that Uncle hasn’t celebrated in years… T___T I don’t think Qiu and Uncle Pan would end like this, so I’m waiting for more!
Now, about YuYang…
I adore YuYang, but it wasn’t right for him to punch Qiu :/ I like that Qiu knocked some sense into YuYang (literally). Qiu’s “Who’s never been hurt before?! Why do you have to go so far?! Who cares if you’re gay?! What’s so special about that?! Are your feelings the only one’s that matter?! Are everyone else’s invalid?!” was honestly what YuYang needed to hear. At the beginning of chapter 94, we do see YuYang’s roommates being openly supportive of him. I hope that after Qiu told YuYang off, YuYang could go back to the dorm and confide in his friends. There’s even that friend who’s the dad of the group and hugged YuYang, so our protagonist is certainly more than welcome to open his heart to his friends. Like Qiu said, denying someone’s feelings just because you’ve been hurt before… I don’t think YuYang wants to continue living like that, and LiHuan doesn’t deserve it either. Maybe after this confrontation, Qiu and YuYang could become friends. Sometimes, we just need that one person who lets us see what we just can’t see. Qiu may be that helpful soul who will encourage our main couple to talk and finally start dating x))

I'm glad we agree (▰˘◡˘▰) I enjoyed seeing Qiu grow, which I think was a realistic portrayal because we can totally reflect based on how new people make us feel, and words indeed have power :) Yi Ran recognized Qiu's change too, and I see her as a credible character since they dated before. (Like I mentioned in my post, Yi Ran seeking Qiu for comfort shows that she trusts him, and he probably understands her well. He's clearly patient, which we see whenever he's with Uncle Pan.)
Qiu telling YuYang off gave us an idea of how both characters are like. We see that our protagonist suffered growing up and he's used to fighting alone, instead of confiding in his friends and feeling supported. Meanwhile, Qiu has a lot of self-love, so he doesn't take people's comments to heart very easily. Qiu also doesn't invalidate others, since he pays attention to Uncle Pan and never brushes the old man off for "speaking nonsense." I think it's quite open-minded to pursue someone you're unfamiliar with; it's so easy not to do that considering that homophobia is still alive, and Qiu might have had an easier time pursuing a female.
So, yes, it's important to care for your own feelings, but you should also think of other people's feelings. And I think you should give them an honest answer, because that would be honesty for both parties. YuYang lied to LiHuan about not having romantic feelings because he doesn't have the courage to start a relationship, while LiHuan just doesn't know why YuYang lied. :/ Both parties are hurting when they don't need to. I truly appreciate Qiu being honest with himself and that he questions himself when he's not sure about his own feelings :)
I think Uncle Pan opened his eyes too. Our uncle thought Qiu would just have fun and leave, but nope. Qiu is growing up, thanks to the chance Uncle Pan gave the youngster to spend time together. I hope to see them date soon (≧∀≦)
