What in the Stockholm syndrome pretty privilege hell is this ?!
The story is getting less and less coherent. I think the author bit off more than they could chew with this premise, because the complete lack of any real turning point, redemption, or payoff is astonishing !
The way the story is unfolding through these short chapters that just jump between sex scenes and a messy mission plot, without ever properly addressing what happened or actually developing their relationship, only to suddenly have them acting like lovers as if that’s a natural progression…??
The whole “hot enough to make you forget the atrocities” effect is REAL !
Apparently, having a face card is a valid redemption arc now...
I bet ya that Rian is going to top from the bottom, he's definitely going to ride Enzo cowgirl style to "show him" how to make love properly, and like how sex isn't just about sticking it in and ramming, blah blah !
But no matter how much of a gentleman Rian is, it still feels very OOC and too soon for him to willingly take it up the ass, especially considering how badly Enzo has treated him up until very "recently" ! Like, not enough time has passed, and their relationship hasn’t improved THAT much for Rian to just accept and forgive him yet. So, just cause he’s a softie inside and feels pity for Enzo isn’t really enough to justify things unfolding this way...assuming that’s where the story is going.
There definitely needs to be more emotional development or some kind of turning point between them first for Rian’s decision to feel believable and in character, and not just him seeing those marks on Enzo’s back and going, “Awww, poor thing, guess I’ll accept to bottom for ya (˶˃⤙˂˶)”
Let’s not forget how Enzo gave Rian the SAME MARKS when he harshly whipped him with a belt back in Season 1, while Rian was literally roofied too !
Well, that, or Enzo's gonna end up r*ping him again for the billionth time, I guess...
I seriously can't see either of them volunteering for the bottom role at this point; it just makes no sense! That's why I'm waiting for that twist, well... ah, the first time it was drugs, the second time punishment... I can only hope for some sort of consensual game at this point. Or maybe they don't get to it as masked men rush into the room and kidnap them. Seriously, that would be so much better than another rape scene ( ̄へ ̄)
I know it's too much for Enzo to be sane, but maybe just this once?! I mean, he can learn; we've seen it. If it was the other way around and Enzo told Rian what to wear, what to say, there's no waaaay he would've listened. He probably would've done the opposite. But this idiot can learn if only Rian teaches him... how to be a human being!
I really didn’t like it at all !
I don’t know if you’re both too young to see the issue, or if you just don’t care because it’s fiction, (not judging anyone’s preferences, btw) but the way the story romanticizes all of this and has Enzo essentially forgiven just because he’s pretty is such a messed-up thing to convey !
Especially when the premise had SO much potential, only for the story to devolve into one of those shallow, superficial toxic romances that throws all of its buildup and character complexity out the window just to deliver a superficial romantic payoff ╥﹏╥
Whatever (╯#-.-)╯╧╧
Hey, no hate to u or anything, what u feel is totally valid, I guess I am just content with what I am getting and its aligning with my preference, of course it didn't 100% turn out the way I hoped it would but it didn't make me feel off either, probably just how I view things, and yeah fiction is fiction to me, if I think Abt real life perspectives all the time then I won't be able to enjoy these and I think its totally ok to have different view points, I hope this doesn't offend u but I am just a depressed person trying to enjoy the only show that emotionally moves me rn (。•︿•。)
The people mad at Chayoung clearly understand sh*t about amnesia...
He's definitely not perfect, but even before the accident, he was the one putting the most effort into their relationship. He matured, became a good husband to Gyuha, and was almost always the proactive one—the one carrying the emotional weight of the relationship— while Gyuha mostly went along with things and rarely opened up about his own feelings.
Yet somehow people expect Chayoung to wake up with no memories and instantly pick up exactly where he left off, like nothing happened. And blaming him for not going back to being a doting husband, or for acting like he doesn’t care about his kids when he clearly can’t even process the fact that he is married and has a family to begin with, instead of acknowledging how devastating and disorienting amnesia actually is, is just ridiculous.
Some of these comments genuinely make me wonder whether people here are actual teenagers and whether they understand how memory loss works at all.
Gyuha also needs to step up now, he can’t keep the same passive role—still emotionally distant and stuck in his old ways— while Chayoung can no longer be the one holding things together as much anymore, and expect things to work...
Yes! This is good bc it shows how chayoung carried the emotional weight and gyuha barely leaned how to express his feelings and is prone to brushing things aside. If it were gyuha with amnesia chayoung would still be able to manage to comfort him and handle things I think, this just highlights gyuha’s need to open up more and make and effort to both understand the other person and be clear with his expectations and desires
This!! I really can't comprehend why they still doing the same thing kept having sex n then act like nothing happen? I mean make some other effort to trigger chayoung memories fr! Show him their kids, live w the kids, go on a date to places they have gone... but no just in the house only the two of them acting like f*ck buddies all over and over again.
People talking about switching, like during season 1 when the author already made it clear their positions would be Enzo top/Rian bottom and no switching, is legit exhausting
i promise you it isnt that serious lmaooo and girlie there's so many fucking stories with pretty tops so idk what you're on about
why are yall so fucking defensive over this?? literally who cares if people want switching, how does that affect you in any way? grow up
did a switch gay couple kill your parents or something why tf are you so mad about this help
No one is mad about people wanting switching. The point is that we already know there won't be any because the author has explicitly made that clear. So what's the point of bringing it up over and over and over again ?
If the author had left it open-ended, then sure, people could speculate or hope for switching all they want. But that's not the case here. It's already been decided, so constantly asking for it or debating it is just repetitive and, at this point, kind of exhausting and pointless.
It's like walking into a bakery and asking for croissants every damn day after the owner has repeatedly said they don't sell croissants. Like ?? Lmao
At some point, you either accept what the author has decided or find a story that fits your preferences, as simple as that !
this is mangago bruv the author isnt seeing anything on here who gaf if someone likes switches and also yalls logic is backfiring on you. I'm aware you're not the one who said this but the original commenter said something like "we finally have a story with a pretty top" when there's billions of stories with pretty tops and barely any switches. It makes sense people will be talking about switch potential. Who cares? Who is it affecting?
Just saying that it gets repeated.
Apparently we care, because it's a bit annoying when we know that they aren't ever going to switch, (which is what the author said more than a couple chapters ago.)
It's affecting us, because it gets repeated, which in turn, annoys us, because it's redundant.
PS: I never said it's affecting the author when we comment on mangago, though the author definitely knows that there is a part of the fandom who would immensely like for them to switch.
The author acknowledges this, and says that those who would like for them to switch, disagrees with the author's decision for them to remain, and not to switch.
The author has never said anything about the switch likers' being aggressive/etc about wanting them to switch.
The author just acknowledges it, and says that they disagree.
Lmk if I got any details wrong, I honestly forgot probably a lot of details, or something.
Anyways, to put it simply:
Bruv, who gaf if someone dislikes switches and also y'all's logic is backfiring on you. I'm aware you're not the one who said this, but the original commenter said something about it being legit exhausting when the author made it clear that they wouldn't switch.
Second part:
it's like going to a cake shop with your friends, and then having a conversation about how nice it would be if they sold croissants.
Also, repeatedly conversing with the customers about how nice it'd be if this cake shop who put a notice saying "they wouldn't sell croissants" as a reposne, sold croissants.
PS: eh, we like Adrian as a strict bottom for Lorenzo, who we like as a strict top. Like, who gaf? Us, apparently, also y'alls too, apparently?
The reason people are talking about switching so much is because the author literally wrote both characters having a preference for topping, so of course people would actually like to see both of them top each other instead of one being forced into the bottom position like 90% of BL that have this disgusting, overdone trope for a ‘bottom’ to want to top but never get to bc their partner refuses and ignores their wants. These kind of comments infuriate me sm because in what world is wanting to see the most common type of gay sexual relationship (switching) represented more controversial and annoying than comments praising and getting off on a clearly non-consensual relationship. Like, I can count the number of switch stories on this site on one hand but there are an endless amount that romanticize rape. And the argument that the author has stated their positions are fixed so there’s no reason for people to bring up switching is so stupid, people are allowed to want for a story to go in a certain direction even if it’ll never happen and they’re allowed to criticize a weird, boring trope.
We're saying it's getting annoying. You know they'll never switch. If they really want to criticise something that's set in stone, never going to change, so much, then please, leave it be? Idrk.
We know you get bored of strict top / strict bottom dynamic, for you it's the "both of them wanting to top, but only one gets to", type.
Switching is not controversial, we never said that
(well, some probably did, but I didn't, so, message to my lads, lasses, and lassos: Switching is a normal thing in sex.)
Noncon in fiction, is fiction. We do not condone these in real life, there is a separation between fiction and nonfiction.
Fiction can only reflect reality, and it may influence some, but that's why we're taught what's right and wrong.
"Getting off" on fictional noncon is a normal thing, there are many kinks, like voyeurism, latex, etc, etc, common kinks, uncommon kinks.
They are only considered paraphilic when it's so intense that it becomes a danger to the one who has the kink, and or, others in the vicinity.
Some may also view reading about these topics as a form of coping mechanism, (such as kinks, because we know the develop of kinks are most probably connected to trauma.)
Reading about these topics may or may not hurt the reader, it depends. We have to follow our minds and decide if we can handle this. Will this trigger my trauma bad? Will this help me process my trauma? Or, simply. Will I enjoy reading this in a healthy way?
Pornographic material is a normal part of life, well, I certainly recommend less of it, but it's a natural human thing, to read, less than sanitary or sane material.
Why do we like Horror? Why do we like Tragedy? It's because we're only human. The taboos, we get curious of taboos.
We feel a need to explore these in a safe environment, the fictional world.
Anyways, I guess you can just ignore my massive, kind of philosophical segment.
So, there literally is no reason for them to bring up switching, in the comments when they know it isn't going to happen.
Actually, me, replying to myself, there is a reason:
They want to expressed their opinions, which is the whole reason for comments, oh obviously.
Anyways, I guess you won the argument? Idk, is this even an argument, were we arguing? I don't really know.
Please don't call the story boring, it may be weird, but it isn't boring for us, they have a slightly uncommon dynamic here! Sure it's still strict top / strict bottom, but look at how wonderful and unique Adrian is, and Lorenzo's slightly unique too.
When'd we have a British? (Not entirely sure on that...) bottom in a Korean comic?
Never in my life have I encountered another Adrian, and my go to is, MC = bottom, of course I want Adrian to be the strict bottom for Lorenzo's strict top.
Anyways the end of this is, let's just agree that it'd be nice for the switch likers to have them switch.
AND.
It'd be nice for them not to switch, for us switch dislikers.
So on so forth. (am I using this saying right?):
We also get to express our dislike of switching, and our like of them being strict top / strict bottom dynamic.
BECAUSE.
You all also get to express your dislike of them being strict top / strict bottom dynamic, and your like of switching.
So, can we agree to this tie? Let's be as annoying as possible to eachother in the comments, always and forever, till death do us part. (=・ω・=)
I find my recent text to be slightly wrong. Is it not weird, that we have to annoy eachother?
Maybe we should just keep the comments on topic. The topic being, "strict top / strict bottom's story." But that includes AU's of the story, alternate universes.
Man, it's no use, let's just keep annoying each other like this. I do really like some AU's.
Like, maybe we should make Adrian actually like bottoming... Lorenzo asking and waiting for consent...
Because you really dislike the "bottom wanting to top, but not getting to" trope.
Or let's just make them consensual from the get go.
Lorenzo asks Adrian to enter a relationship with him, Lorenzo & Adrian agreeing on switching, Lorenzo asking for permission to go ahead with his master owner / slave prisoner pet? kink.
But then the story changes a bit too much, this story's essence, it's different, a different taste, others will like it, others will dislike it. "Man, we could've had the best thing ever." And "Man, this is the best thing ever."
Anyways, the story proceeded this way, so it's natural that you, who dislikes this trope, will dislike the story's trope when it proceeds with the trope that you dislike.
Don’t worry, I’ll just move on. It’s funny and unfortunate that some people resort to that kind of comment when they can’t have a proper discussion. It's sad for them but I’m not going to let it ruin the conversation.
Also, no need to delete it — let their poor behavior remain here, as a permanent reminder and proof of the kind of person they choose to be ~
LOL !! This issue blew up so much it even reached Korean media sites (like theqoo), and many Koreans are baffled and urging the author to scrap the whole thing, saying it’s problematic and questioning whether they’re insane for handling such a sensitive topic in such a half-assed way. They’re also saying not to mess with other countries’ history using such a lazy premise !!
So the commenters here who were arguing there’s no issue with it or saying “let’s wait and see,” you’ve been exposed ! There’s no excuse for you anymore, not that there was any to begin with, it’s obvious many of you are either hypocrites, racists, or ignorant fujos, or all of the above, especially when even Koreans can recognize the problem here, and are asking the author to change the premise.
At this point, there’s nothing left to say. Mic drop.
the problem is serious considering racism and slavery is an actual thing in history and it should never be romanticized. I'm glad they're actually seeing the problem here it's the bare minimum lmao how can the author even think of imagining a "slave" in a sexual and romantic relationship with their "owner", especially since they use actual history. It's crazy

Also, I’m laughing at everyone who was STILL debating whether there would gonna be a switch this chapter when the author made it crystal clear since Season 1 that Rian is the bottom Enzo is the top, and there was NEVER gonna be a switch LOL
exactly like why are they crying over spilt milk beating up the dead horse and all those idioms alike LMAO like the author is a buff power bottom enjoyed and it shows so idk what they be betting on even.
